45.506

And I left a LOT of time out there!

(4th fastest time of the day, only that BM thing, and two DM Caterhams were faster.)

wow, sweet... they emailed the results to me! Thats pretty cool!

Dammit... Mike Snyder got me in BSP by 0.475 on his LAST run. :confused What tires was he running do you know? Im pretty happy with these Dunlops... they are consistently close to Hoosier times. I think they just need some heat in em. Ah well, I still had some time out there, I couldnt get that transition right where it crests the hill and gets all bumpy :(

You also got Fastest SP Time of Day Nick... way to go!

I just finished putting in my 850R/700F springs, made the front bar full stiff and disconnected the rear sway. Hopefully the car will feel a lil better this Sunday :help

No where is Alex T. He got some GREAT shots of me spinning out :redspot

Nice driving, Nick. You were lifting the inside front on the little dash to the line. That car's really hooked up :buttrock

I couldn't figure out the new tires and forgot how to drive my car. Other than that, I was fine :rolleyes My second fun run was a second and a half faster :mad :help

Well now you'll be able to put the power down just about anywhere. But with the front bar at full stiff, you'll need to go in pretty damn slow, but your exit speeds will be MUCH higher with the no rear bar. You're going to have to learn to drive your car all over again.

:devillook :redspot :eek:How do they feel compared to Hoosiers? Did you have to drive (somewhat) differently on them?

After seeing the grin on his face I'd say Hoosier has a loooooooong way to go.

I think the only thing he did differently was keep his foot planted on the gas pedal

That was one seriously fun course :buttrock

The Kumhos will take one hell of a lot more slip than the Hoosiers will. In fact, I found myself sliding the car a lot because it actually worked better. The Hoosiers require much more careful nursing of traction, and don't have the same kind of traction.

In summary, even if the A3S05s are a hair faster, it probably takes a John V or above level driver to realize the benefits.

*Disclaimer: I have not, and do not claim to have ever driven on A3S05s. Maybe they have the Rubber of God.

Nick, how do you think this tire would do on a road course compared to a Hoosier R3S04?

What I hear, having never driven on the R3S04 myself, is that the V710 is faster early on, but will have heat soak issues later in the race. I'd tend to agree with this, as the V710s actually seem to do best cold.

...I suspect you can forget about enduros.

Try it and see. :D

Nick,

How much camber are you running, and did you end up needing spacers in the front? I have mine all mounted up but haven't put them on the car yet. :D

Did you heat cycle them first or just jump right in?

nick325xit 5spd
04-11-2005, 02:52 PM
Heat cycled them. Sort of.

(And you weren't supposed to get V710s! That's my competitive advantage. :neener: )

I've got rear camber maxed, and front camber set to something in the 3.5-4 range.wear seems even, but I need to remember my pyrometer next time.

Don't worry man. I have Koni SAs on the front. :help Oh and also I never corner balanced it. :help

Mine is unbalanced and unaligned ATM. I'm not currently running spacers in front, but I'm thinking about 3mm or so.
