I think I'll have some time to get the site up before the meet on the 30th. I'll be in Orlando this coming week and will be in airports and hotel rooms and crap. This should be a good opportunity to get this thing done.

Here's what I'm thinking...

The site will be really simple. Aside from the main page, it will have the following areas (listed in no particular order):

Photos
Members
Join
Calendar

The Photos area will have photos from our past meets/events (I still need originals of the 1st meet to post).

The Members area will have info about each of the "official" members. I need to know what info to include in this area...

The Join section will include form that you fill out and submit. Once the form is received, you'll be added to a holding area where you'll stay until you attend a meet and join Bimmerforums.com. While in the holding area you'll receive news about upcoming meets. To become an official member, I think that the following 3 things must be meet: Filled out the Join form on the website, Attended a meet, Member of Bimmerforums.com. Once those three are meet you will be listed as an official member in the Members area. (Any thoughts on that?)

The Calendar area will have info on our upcoming events.

I guess that's really it. I'd like to get it done before the 30th but I can't promise anything.

And are any of you willing to maintain the site once it's up?

Thanks...

How about a phpbb?

otherwise sounds awesome.

That'd be great... although I haven't researched how to actually put one in place. And in this case I'd definitely need someone else to manage the site.

This is why I included joining bimmerforums.com as a prerequisite to becoming an official member. It'd be a lot easier from a management perspective if all of the bb stuff was done outside of the site. And not to mention, we’ll probably get a lot more traffic from bf.c.

It's a great idea, though, if someone is willing to head it up...

If it has an auto updating form like a blog I can do it.

phpbb is cool but if you don't know what you are doing its hard

I don't know what i'm doing.

Definitely interested in joining and I don't work weekends so making it to meetings won't be an issue the majority of the time.
If the BMWMOFO site is up please let me know the addy, if it's already been posted I apologize for asking and I'll try and find it.

Thanks-

Paul

Anyone have access and time to post pics from the last meet? And maybe the first meet? If I can get a login setup, I can tinker with it now and then......

I can export pics similar to what I did with the pics of the last meet. if some one just gave me a place to upload/login. I could kind of do it like a blog.
