Hey guys -

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I'll be moving up there to Michigan in a couple weeks. I'll be living with the rents at first when I get back while I sell my place down here and save up some money, but in the next year I'll be looking to buy a place.

I'll be working in Birmingham so ideally I'd live close enough to get to work within a reasonable amount of time but far enough to get out of the Birmingham real estate costs and taxes.

So, what do you guys say? Where do you think I should look? An inexpensive condo wouldn't be bad, but I'm also considering buying property and putting up a shell home.

Give me your thoughts...

See you guys soon if the meet at the beginning of the month works out :buttrock

Anything on the Woodward corridor is going to be pricey- royal oak, ferndale, bloomfield hills - you might try berkley. I live in Waterford - not to far from Birmingham, lots of lakes - very reasonable prices. Just need to watch out for the occasional hillbilly. Take a look at Sylvan Lake as well - nice area.

Thanks, I grew up in Clarkston, and that's becoming a bit more pricy as well. You say you're in Waterford? Have you been to the new Shark's club? I haven't been since they moved across 59...

I'll take a look in Berkley and Sylvan Lake... Thanks!
