View Full Version : BMWMOFO mini meets...... whatcha think?
mrdezyne 04-07-2005, 10:15 AM Hey, I was thinkin, scary I know, but since everyone including myself has projects planned that will require some help, how about setting up mini meets in between the every 6 week state-wide meets. These could be city specific for those (Tulsa, OKC) who need help with whatever. Mini Tech sessions if you will.
Truth be told, I would be much more available to lend a hand here in Tulsa than to make it to OKC to help someone out. Just an idea to kick around. I know there are several in the OKC bunch that have to get through this semester before they can think of starting new projects but keep this in mind. I'll bring it up at the meet on the 30th as well.

Sounds great to me, just have to make sure I plan around them.
Not that any of these would be used much, but I have access to a Drill Press, a Hydraulic press (great for suspension stuff), a huge bead blaster (it will fit just about anything you need, multiple wheels, a fender, engine block), and 250gallon air compressor. Will eventually have a lift, but in a different loaction than the other equipment.
BMWbeauty416 04-07-2005, 11:23 AM wanna come to my house and put in my birthday present???
your only like a mile away come on! :stickoutt
but yes it's a good idea! and if nothing else the local areas cities and such could even just go do something just because like dinner or something - I don't know about you guys but I had a great laugh at dinner last time
OH and are you Tulsa people gonna come out for my birthday!? it's gonna be at the same Friday's we had dinner at ;)

Yeah! More chics!

16 yr old chicks that is... An I thought there was a big age difference between Teg and I.
Ok, heres the low down, I'm not actually working on the Clutch, just keeping all the bolts covered in Knock-er-Loose. That way when I start working on it tomorrow I don't break as many exhaust bolts. Man those pipes are nasty, gonna need some time with the mig welder to fill some of the holes.
Overall my 1 person Mini meet went well this morning, I put the TMEs on the wrong side of the UUC bushings and had to knock them back off, other than that the Transmission mount swap was a success.
The original driveline vibration under hard throttle is gone, I think the tranny was shifting under load causing the ujoints to get out of position. Actually I think the motor was shifting and flexing the Transmission mounts (more below).
Now a new vibration has surfaced: With the clutch in or the transmission in neutral there is an off throttle through midrange vibration. I'm guessing motor mounts, I think the old worn bushings on the tranny were hiding this vibration. Is there anything else to check for vibration? The fan clutch seems to be ok. Is the S52 internally or Externally balanced? Is there a wieghted harmonic balancer? Could the flywheel/pressure pressure plate combo be out of balance?
I guess Motor mounts and oil pump nut fix are next.
