Does anyone in Jersey get stopped by the police much for not having a front plate? I know its illegal to not have one but I wanna get rid of mine...thanks

My friend drove in NJ for a whole year and never got pulled over. Also he always had the second plate in his car. In case he would get pulled over he told me that he would tell the cop that he ordered the licence plate bracket from the dealer and he is waiting for it. I guess that sounds legit. I drove in NY for a year too and never got pulled over for not having one either. I guess its all about luck.

2.5 years and counting i have driven with no front plate in NJ and been ok. I have only been asked by a cop once when i was stopped and he was walking down the street. I used the same excuse, told him my plate and bracket were stolen and i was waiting for a new one.

As long as your car is not "in your face" you should be fine.

I lived in NY for 5 years without a front plate, no problems.

I live in NY and have had a HORRIBLE time with no plates. I decided to just put the front on in the last year after getting my second ticket. I never used to have an issue but for some reason things changed around me. :dunno

its been a little over a year and i have not had problems

Got pulled over the 3rd week without it :( He actually (all in about 3 seconds) made eye contact with me, looked down, saw no plate and then spun a Uwie and snagged me. Cops in my town dislike me, so im at a dis-advantage already. Im moving, in 3 months, hopefully!
