I am getting off the LIE and I am coming around the entrance ramp, I hear this pretty loud exhaust. Now, I am in 3rd gear @3000 rpms, which I should not be in if I were to take this ramp as fast as I can.

I am pretty much driving nonchalantly, but my friend wanted me to catch up to see what car it was that was making this sound. I punch it in 3rd,(which was the wrong gear, obviously my fault because I was not really flying around the ramp) and we get a little closer to notice that it was a VW Golf or vr6 GTI, not sure, but it was lowered w/some nice wheels.

So I hear him step on it as well, and I am not catching up to him at all up to about 110-120. He had a three car length head start, and I did not start catching up to him (read:slowly) up until about 120. At this point the M starts to gain a little ground, and as I move to gradually pass him, I start to approach the car in the passing lane very fast, so I duck back in behind him. We hit a bunch of traffic and wind up slowing from 135, and the chase was over.

I guess this was niether a death or a kill, but I definitely made this guys night. The car was very fast, and I knew it was modified to hell due to the exhaust and the suspension, so I did not feel that bad but I am still a little dissapointed I did not start in 2nd. I really thought once we got into triple digits, I would start to catch up real fast, which was not the case. I tried signaling to him to put his window down, but we both have tinted windows, so I am not sure he saw me. I am sitting there wondering just what in the hell this guy has under the hood, so I wanted to chat. Anyway if he winds up reading this, damn your VW was fast and what the hell was in there!
