I have the 320i euro close ratio fitted on to my e30 m50. however the problem is that the tranny sits at a 23 degree angle while the motor is at a 30 degree. Therefore my tranny is mounted sideways, so it will never work properly. This is a very nice and rare transmission. However it needs a slight rebuild my local BMW dealer said there aren't any synchro problems but something is wrong internally most likely discs. If I get an offer and someone is really interested maybe we can work something out and send it out to metric Mechanics for a rebuild. This is tranny will work real well anyone looking to race their 2002. I would like to hold on to it but it looks like it won't work with my set up.

If it's mounted to an M50 sideways, you have an M20 transmission, which was probably from a 323i, unless it's had the bellhousing swapped.
