Hey guys,
I need to kn ow of a place in or around north jersey (bergen co) that can weld aluminum..
I have a 5spd trans that needs one half of the mounting tabs (where the transmission cross brace bolts to) rebuilt..
One side of one of the "forks" was broken clean off and i need that piece rebuilt and welded.. I also no longer have the org. piece..
Can anybody help me out?

Welding cast aluminum is very tricky at best. I would look for a welding shop in the local yellow pages. Possible to check with mechanics at Teterboro.

I weld for a living. And that stuff isn't fun to work with. But it can be done. Not sure if I would trust it for long though. All the heat on that would create some problems.

Phear could you tell me why you wouldnt trust it???
