I was looking through the new Motor Trend and saw an ad for "Turbo-Wash" a product that sprays equal ratios of water and soap onto the car. Anyone try this? Is it effective? Pros/Cons

View Full Version : Turbo-wash pressure washer: As good as hand washing? 6i9 04-03-2005, 04:50 PM I was looking through the new Motor Trend and saw an ad for "Turbo-Wash" a product that sprays equal ratios of water and soap onto the car. Pros/Cons John (PA) 04-03-2005, 06:22 PM Not even close to hand washing. :D 6i9 04-03-2005, 08:02 PM Well so much for that then...:) 525iT_Feen 04-03-2005, 09:39 PM Not even close to hand washing. :D When you have good products for hand washing, nothing that I know of, compares. Steve530 04-03-2005, 10:01 PM When you have good products for hand washing, nothing that I know of, compares. How about this: 525iT_Feen 04-03-2005, 10:37 PM That is probably similiar to what Chris is talking about...:dunno I still doubt it would be as clean as a good hand wash...personal preferance. Woob 04-03-2005, 10:52 PM Foam gun (image posted up by Steve530) could work well if you do it right since your saturating everything at an even stage. Steve530 04-04-2005, 01:07 AM Yea, with the foam gun you still wash the car by hand. It just keeps a supply of soap and water to minimize scratches. bellavus 04-04-2005, 02:48 AM you're still going to have to scrub with a soft sponge to get all of the dirt off anyways. Just using one of those power washer things will get your car slightly cleaner than if it just sat in the rain. Volfinator 04-04-2005, 03:20 PM How dare you become lazy enough to put down the wash mit! Only the best for your bimmer. Not to mention the satisfaction that comes from have a perfectly clean car, and a good sweat. 6i9 04-05-2005, 12:18 AM How dare you become lazy enough to put down the wash mit! I was just curious as to what people though about this thing. I've spent up to 9-10 hrs detailing the car... ano0oj 04-05-2005, 01:24 AM Nothing competes with hand washes. liquidtiger720 04-05-2005, 03:34 AM some use a foam gun to spay a consistent supply of lubricant over the car while using a wash mit. This is an attempt to minimize marring of the paint. |
