Me and a friend (owns a well modded Evo) ran up to Lowe's and I let him drive. Since its nice out, we put the top down and are just enjoying it. On the way back, we see a MR and my buddy gets excitied and goes up and waves and then passes him. After getting about 3 cl behind, he then speeds back up and paces us. He and my buddy driving my car both punch it from about 75. My friend only dropped my roadster down to 4th and not to third (which he should have) and you could hear the MR drop and take off too. Well now we are running the MR (just him in his car) with 2 big guys in the car with the top down and windows down. My car is heavy and has the earodynamics of a brick at this point. From 75-105 he pulled 1 car length and both let off. My buddy who owns an Evo was impressed that we stayed pretty close with him, especially in the wrong gear.

I was fairly pleased under the circumstances.

I have pullies, intake, cams (but not the M50 manifold or the software for it), fan delete, and magnflow mufflers. The car is making about ~260 or so hp.

Good race, too bad you weren't behind the wheel and in 3rd.

Yeah, it would have been much closer, nice run though, and it is cool you let your friend drive it hard.

pretty sure it would have been nose to nose if it was just me in the car and I was in 3rd, oh well, no biggie. Yeah, I let him run it, and he lets me run his Evo. I have spanked many-a-car in his Evo, and at auto-x its just a beautiful thing (unless you get caught under 3k rpm).

I think u would had at least a car on him if not more if u were drivin. :)

yeah, I agree. Losing 150-250lbs is alot, and being in the best gear really makes a difference. if that Evo MR was stock, then you definately woudl've taken him from your speeds. If he was only lightly modded you still probably would've taken him.

What's the curb weight on an M Roadster like yours?

I haven't weighed mine, but with a few things out of the trunk (I only keep the basic tool in there). It should be between 3000-3100.

Without getting a calculator out, your power to weight ratio is a little better than an Evo. I think with an extra 400-500lbs in your car it's about the same though (give or take a little bit for parasitic drivetrain loss)...so it makes perfect sense what happened...assuming the other guy was stock.
