so i ordered some stuff from BMP last night. nothing major- some clear lenses and a glovebox flashlight. some observations...
1. the worst ordering system known to man. you have to enter in each item number, the description, the price, and the quantity on a webpage. forget about just clicking on the item and adding it to your shopping cart. and don't bother using their on-line catalog. it is a real pain.
2. ok, so, if you want to deliver something to a non-cc address, you have to fax them a special form, with a copy of your DL and CC. i understand they are trying to prevent fraud, but no one else puts me through this.
3. shipping charges are a big secret. because their order form is so terrible, they don't tell you what your shipping charges will be. i got an e-mail this morning confirming my order and telling me that my shipping charges would show up on my invoice. really? i e-mailed back asking for a ball park estimate on the shipping charges. they e-mailed back saying i would see the shipping charges on the invoice. no duh. it's a little late to find out at that point whether i got screwed on shipping. i e-mailed back asking if they could give an estimate, and i still haven't gotten a response.
these are fairly minor gripes, and i'm hoping the product shows up in a reasonable time at a reasonable shipping charge, but man they need to work on their website and customer service. anyone care to comment?
