im going to be running an accusump. i would connect it to the oil cooler but, im running an m3 oil filter housing which has the coil that opens when teh oil reaches tempature. so that idea wont work, i just built the motor but dont see any decent plugged off areas, i was wondering if maybe i missed a spot. the motor is just temporarilly built it will be torn apart in a few montsh to do everything i want to do. i want 200 at the wheels.

Twinkie,

What's the application your going to use the car and the horsepower for?

lets just say i drive my car pretty damn hard. on teh road and on the track. ummm... yeah i'll just leave it at that. lol the motor isnt exactly stock, and when i rebuild it again, it will be nowhere near stock. its just always nice to have an accusump. if i want to spend an extra 1500, i may go dry-sump :buttrock

Good Luck. What are you going to do to get 200 at the wheels? Turbo?

Are you planning on driving this on the street?

How do u plan on getting 200 hp at the wheels N/A? Thats alot of custom machining etc.

The only N/A 2002 I've seen that had close to 200HP at the wheels was a 2.4L with a 336 degree cam. The guy said it had about 235 at the crank.

They dont really idle, and rev past 8000ish RPM.

Wouldnt the car be faster around a track if the engine made more usable power, rather than going for over 200 hp? On an engine like that, it wouldnt wake up until atleast 4000 rpm. 5000 for good power.

304 This is where the Schrick grinds start to get serious. This cam can be run on the street, but it is not for everybody. Low end begins to diminish, due to this cam's increased valve overlap. This cam really works well with 45 DCOE sidedrafts, and a BIG ( > 2.5") exhaust system. the power curve really begins at 4000 rpm, and continues on through 7000 rpm.

316 This cam is really suited only for the racetrack. The valve timing and duration are such that the fattest part of the horsepower curve is near 5000 rpm. This cam has been recently upgraded to provide the same lift figures as the 336 grind. Useful power is 4500-8000 rpm depending on carb jetting. (11.9mm intake valve lift)

336 This is the ultimate statement in Schrick cams. This cam has found homes in 220+ horsepower GT-3 racers here and in the saloon car series over in Europe. Only included here for informational purposes, a motor with this cam will hardly IDLE, and will easily rev to over 8500 rpm!

The guy who built the motor has been working on 02's since they came out. He restored 02's (well, just did body work) for a living and a typical completed car would run $10,000, but it would look beautiful. He's also the guy who made my Zender flares.

Here is a picture of his 2002, and it looks so much better in person.

I have got the 304 cam in my 02 and the car did take a hit in the bottom end. The car really rips above 4K. For me the 304 works on the street, though I would not go any bigger.

That's what I have and my bottom end is pretty much the same, I love the car once it hits 4000 all the way to 7500.

well where im at we have 100 octane readily available(at the pumps). and i can get higher if wanted. I love 110, the car screams in teh mid range with 110. so im going to be running a pretty high compression. as well as a dry sump, if i go through with it all.

yes,and I didnt like it. It was on an 02 with a stroked M20 and triple downdraught carbs. The car was pretty bad-ass but I didnt like the muscle car look
