View Full Version : Oklahoma weather is keeping eveyone busy....
mrdezyne 03-30-2005, 05:37 PM The Oklahoma clan must be out enjoying this weather we are having. Mid 70's and sunny. Perfect days for detailing or burning up a tank of gas on a nice drive. Where are you all at? Sound off!

OkieM3 03-31-2005, 01:24 AM Was that you I met at 3rd and Harvard yesterday? I was in the cosmos coming towards you. Did you hear that nice rattle coming from my engine? I had just installed pullies, drove about 2 miles and the power steering pulley had started working its way off already. A little loctite saved the day though.
BMWbeauty416 03-31-2005, 11:12 AM OH THE WEATHER HAS BEEN AMASING! I have had the windows down sunroof open just enjoying the hell out of it - some of these people with converts that have the tops up I'm like WTH why did you get a convert if your not gonna put it down on a day like this!?

Might have been me, I live at about 7th and Harvard so I'm buzzing around there all the time. That being said, however, there is now another Hellrot 325 with the same damn gray or black middle stripe as mine on the hood that I see runnig around that area. He has different wheels and the car is a little rougher overall. Damn, try to be original and you still end up being part of the herd. Time for a new E46 front end... HA! I think this looks tight!! :buttrock
OkieM3 03-31-2005, 01:56 PM The other one that kinda looks like yours is always parked on Brookside. I think he works at Alamos restaurant, because it is always parked in front of that place.
mrdezyne 03-31-2005, 02:13 PM So Okie M, what is your overall thoughts on the pullies? I'm thinking about doing that myself. Worth the mod? Are you happy with them now that they are staying on... HA!
mrdezyne 03-31-2005, 02:16 PM Oh, and tell me more about these "Swaybarbarians", I also want to upgrade the swaybars soon, are you satisfied with them?
speedster 03-31-2005, 02:19 PM i have been enjoying my daily drive from norman to okc!! windows down, sunroof open, music up loud the only way.

The only way to go! But the only music I need is that sweet sound around 3500 - 4000 RPM..... HA!

OkieM3 04-01-2005, 05:31 PM I got my pullies from Umnitza. They were the last set he had and had been returned, so he cut me a great deal on them...$95 shipped. It's only two pullies...the water pump and power steering. It's hard to tell the results because I did the fan delete at the same time. These two combined mods seem great! I did underdrive pullies cause I'm planning on FI in the near future. If you're curious about crank pulley, talk to Lieb, he's got URI I think.
UUC Swaybarbarians seem to be fine. Good adjustment capabilities in the rear. I'm going to buy some adjustable end links for the front since I have already broken 1 mounting tab. FYI, if you get any aftermarket sway bars, make sure to get the reinforcement tabs for the rear.

If you don't have a LTW flywheel and no F/I plans then the URI crank pulley is the best 180 bucks you can spend  . The difference is night and day and, in my educated opinion, the crank pulley is completely safe (I'll be happy to go into detail if interested)
Also, if you still have the mechanical fan on you might as well be driving around with your e-brake on. Get the fan delete kit from Bimmerparts.com and do it correctly (temp switch/H2O wetter...). I had big reservations on this mod because my car says running while parked in between auto-x runs, with multiple drivers, in 100*+ heat, and a black car, but had absolutely no problems with overheating last summer. Plus, I got ~4 HP at the wheels :D

Sounds like a plan, this weekend I stripped everything I could get my hands on out of the trunk area to lighten up some. Damn that spare tire false floor is a heavy sucker along with the spare itself. No noticable increase in exhaust noise inside the cabin. Haven't gone as far as to remove the rear seat yet but I'm thinking about it.... not like I every have anyone back there anyway.......

FYI, there is thick padding, just like in the trunk, underneath the rear deck and another one under the rear seat bottom. I noticed no additional cabin noise when these were removed as well (the LTWs did not have these sound mats). Only thing about removing the rear deck mat it you will need to suspend the speaker/brake light wires so they don't rattle. I just ran the wires through some blocks of foam rubber. This would be a perfect time to re-spray your rear deck too :cool
mrdezyne 04-04-2005, 04:14 PM So I guess the Understeer FDK has everything you need? I'll probably order this thing and do my water pump at the same time. Oh, and yes, I'll pull the rear deck lid out and paint it too, I know that bugs you every time you see it.... HA!
e's 318ti 04-04-2005, 11:24 PM Been awhile since I have posted but good to see everyone :cool
mrdezyne 04-05-2005, 09:59 AM Today is a good day..... F1 tickets have arrived! :buttrock :redspot
m3lieb 04-05-2005, 08:35 PM Speaking of weather, did any of your cars get hammered by the hail today? I had tennis ball size hail at my crib that caused some roof damage, and my neighbor's sky lights shattered in  . Luckily my car was both not at home and under cover, but my brother got ~$8,000+ damage on his 05' 4-Runner, including a shattered windshield and roof damaged beyond repair.
Curt, please tell me your ride didn't get slammed by this hail storm too! It's gonna be hard to get any body work done around here for a while, with about every 1 in 3 cars I see looking like golf balls.

Yeah, who sent us teh hail :shifty
I pulled my car into our warehouse... only got pea sized hail here in Ada but I wanted to be safe. Thought it was going to be worse, but it only came down hard for 10 minutes and it turned nice again. Go figure...
JedzE36/5 04-06-2005, 12:47 AM eh no hail for me. but there was a crap load of dust! hey mike, where did you run off to on saturday? it was nice to see you at the tech session. there was some crazy stuff there!
oh and btw sorry about posting when we the next meet will be. its that time of year again when school is killing me. anyways though, i posted some new info on a previous thread "3 important OKC dates." if you all are free on April 30th and want to run your car on a new type of autox/cone track, come to OU. come also if you have never seen drifting in person. i been working hard on this thing and it would be great if you all could make it. we could make it the meet.

this car got pretty messed up a few days ago. the guy had to get it towed and the process messed up the front and rear bumpers.
mrdezyne 04-06-2005, 10:16 AM I'm clean. Anything over a 20% chance of rain or storms sparks a truck drivin day for me. I think I'm gun shy after that hail storm that hit me the first time. I did have some siding damage and some flood lights busted at the house when I got home.
Maybe its time we start a new thread. Maybe I should just strike up a weekly thread for everyone to keep in touch and general chit chat. They will be by date and have BMWMOFO in the title......
Anything of special interest can be posted by itself such as the logo/shirt issues.
