Well i got some old rims laying around and i thought hey why not make them look cool. I did the same with my old steel rimes( i got a 1975 2002) and painted them white(looks awsome i must say) but i also got some alloy rims the old style and wondered if you could do the same?

I also had a little encounter with (not sure if they are painted or chromed) that the top layer chipped off and a white coler came from below the silver

but these would be my stpes of doing about so.

power wash them, sand them down, power wash them, let them dry, paint them with autobody paint

any suggestion or if the paint will work on the alloy as well ?

thankz

professional powder coat would be the right way to do it. If you are on a budget you may paint them they way you described. remember to strip the exisiting paint and clear coat.

I have a set of wheels that I use for winter tires that I painted using engine paint. I used a few different prep methods on each wheel. On the first I was able to take it into school and use their sandblast cabinet, worked great removing the paint. the second and third I didn't have the cabinet available to me so I just sanded the surface most of the way down to the original primer. The fourth wheel I got lazy and just scuffed the surface. I used a primer on all four and ended up using about a can on each wheel, sanding smooth after each coat. The first three wheels have held up great after three winters, the fourth is starting to chip around the edge. I'll need to take it down this summer and repaint it.
