I needed help with replacing my fsr and did not have a clue as to what to do and where to go. I found this website by accident and the information on here is amazing. After describing my blower symptoms, somebody told me it was probably my fsr. I didn't know an fsr from, well you know what I mean. With the help of folks from this site, I replaced the fsr on my own ($tealer$hip wanted to ripped me for $300 + the hassle of dropping my car off and being w/o it for a day or 2). I was somewhat uncomfortable and uncertain that I could replace it. In fact when I removed the floorboard, I felt a little overwhelmed by not having what I thought was the right equipment. However, I bought a $5.00 torx screwdriver in addition to the elecrtric screwdriver that I already owned and was able to replace my fsr in a total of about 1 hour and 10 minutes. MY '02 325i is keeping me warm again during this winter season. It was tight, but definitely can be done by anybody willing to get a little cramped, but driven by the prospect of saving some hard earned cash. I figured the black plastic didnt stand out enough for it to be noticable but with a little paint could be a nice touch to the already beautiful coupe. It was real easy to pop it out from under the hood just a few clips and about 2 minutes. Did my best at sanding it down just a tad to help paint adhesion but it was most tedious so i just scuffed the top a bit. After a blast from my aircompressor to remove the sanding dust it was ready for paint. I have a 2000 328ci in the greyish blue color so I went with a metallic silver with some matte finish clear coat for the color. Laid down about 3 coats of the silver then 2 medium coats of the matte clear. After it about 1.5 hours of drying time I reinstalled the grill and called it a day. Now with the hood closed you can definitely notice the grill hidden being the hood vent slats, nothing crazy but a suttle hint of some bimmer loving customization. Nothing ridiculous like the riced out hondas you see around town. This is my first post on Bimmer forums sorry if this DIY was a bit weak but also new bimmer owner so I'll have more to come. tallboy2023 02-12-2008, 08:56 PM Thanks. That site is great!! raindog212 02-29-2008, 06:39 PM I could not find anything at the link in the first forum ... I mean it takes me there, but as soon as I click on car type, page is not available. Is there any other place where I cna find all the DIY for E46? Thanks I think what you mean is that when you click on the E46 link you get this URL: www bimmer diy /[%%20SITE%20%]/ e46 just omit the /[%%20SITE%20%] and you'll be golden. umermariner 02-29-2008, 11:27 PM I think what you mean is that when you click on the E46 link you get this URL: www bimmer diy /[%%20SITE%20%]/ e46 just omit the /[%%20SITE%20%] and you'll be golden.
