My fan clutch is broken and it's going to cost $180.00 for a new one. So instead of spending $180 for a new one i'm thinking of buying an electric fan and putting it there.
Woulod this work well? I think the only time i would turn it on would be when i was sopped in traffic or just sitting there idling.
I've heard of people taking out their fans and putting electric fans. I think you would need to have it run just like the normal engine fan does, but I do not know how this would be set up.
It gives a few horsepower and is okay to do, from what I have heard. As long as you get it set up so it comes on. I don't know what temps you should make it turn on though.

This can be done I know because I have seen it mentioned on the E30 M3 S.I.G. If you are not a member I would strongly suggest becoming one. I will research this for you. It is a few HP from what I remember. :redspot

It works fine as Euro spec cars like mine never came with a fan on the water pump. It works fine just using the A/C fan, doesn't over heat at all :)
