In Ma, Insurcance is very high, but glass is fully covered under the insurance policy.
With my 86 Jetta I average between one and two windsheilds per year.
I feel your pain bro,
hang in there.

I'm with ya there Bro! :mad Fortunately my '78 320i is nick-free (knock on wood outta the Black Forest) but my wife's '88 528e looks like a freakin spider-web! There outta be some sort of freakin law especially with them freakin semi's!!! If they come out of a site with rocks and crap all over the framework then they're not safe to be on the road. They're unsafe because thet cause accidents! Could scare the crap outta some old lady when they hit and send her across the median. They could fly in your window as they're passin ya and hit ya in the friggin eye! Or worse!!! Knock over your latte strategically positioned due to the lack of a cup holder!!! I could go on and on cuz now you really got me goin but I still gotta get on the road sometime today and I don't wanna be flippin-off every semi driver I see (on your behalf) and end up in the pokey for "road-rage"!!
Whew! (looking for my Prozac-fillled Pez dispenser)
(takes in a deep breath) ...... ok.....yeah man, somebody outta DO somethin.
Your new windshield is gonna look nice though. Thank God it wasn't the headlights. Those H4's are a little pricey and insurance just looks at ya with that dumb look on their face when ya wanna claim damages for the freakin headlight.
AWW hell, face it man! It's totalled! You may as well just pay me to come take it off yer hands! Besides, what are friends for??? (checking air-fare to Pats house)....I'll get back with ya! :buttrock

I'd say about $300+ to freplace it. I had this happen to me on my way to work and I saw the rock truck that it came of off. I wrote down the plate and the company of the truck. 2 weeks later they were replacing my winshield for me with no hassles. You catch my drift....

Wow you actually go through windshelds. I had to replace on im my Probe only because some jack ass decided to put a brick through it, which cost me $300 for aftermarket glass

I wouldn't know what to do if i had a car without a cracked windshield....This whole state is made out of rock and 3/4 of it is on the one paved highway, so getting a cracked winshield is just how it is up here....at least on the E36 and my wife's crv they stayed at the bottom of the windshield or were fixable.
the E21 has about 5 cracks from left to right and top to botom, I will have to replace that one...

My M3 had a nasty crack that I got 'fixed'. It was decent and made it so that the thing wouldn't spread anymore. You might want to look into this before the crack grows to the width of the car.
My 318is got a crack too that I decided wasn't THAT bad. Of course then I took it on a canyon run and the bitch spread from the pass side to the driver's side. Now it is beyond repair, so I'll be getting a new one 'shortly' (once I'm not driving it to LA as much). The repair jobs are WAY worth the $60-80 if it saves you from getting a new windshield at $300ish.
Luckily my e21 doesn't have that problem, but it's only been up the coast to Bimmerfest once. We'll see how it fairs this year....
