Personally, I like it. It also gives us an idea of what the new M3 might look like

GreekDriver 03-23-2005, 04:48 PM Coupe = Nice
Vert = Hell no.
maxse01 03-23-2005, 04:50 PM looks OK............
I dunno...this new direction BMW has taken is making me glad i bought the last good 3 series and may make me a mercedes benz guy. :confused
It's very iffy. I'm sure the car performes amazingly, but that grill is just troubling. I can't look at it for too long without hating that grill. Other than that, the car looks okay.

clutterbucker 03-23-2005, 11:48 PM I agree about the grille statement....they're getting too "futuristic". They need to start over and begin producing luxury E36s...with alittle more modern interior styling and stop appealing to the overly big-heavy-smooth-car-loving American market.
For god's sake, the grille pattern extends to the hood!!! What were they thinking? How much will a new hood cost...or to fix it?
Gorgeous car, much like the E46, but even the E46 is too much. I think they achieved perfection with the E36 body style. There's nothing sexier than an alpine white E36 coupe with painted moulding. Too many other cars look like the new BMWs.
Daved 03-24-2005, 02:53 AM Yes, they're very old pictures and they were posted before also but it was good to remember how those taillights would look like if they were clear (on the M3).

Iono about making a new e36, that style was cool in the 90's, but they have to keep moving forward. The e36 is a good car, but imagine bmw putting a car like that on the showroom floor to follow the e46. cutomers would go over to infinity/lexus/mb.
I have alot of confidence in these designers. they seem to be able to see 5 years into the future. When the x5 came out, i thought it was dam ugly. Now its my favorite suv.

DirtDog 03-24-2005, 03:17 PM they both look pretty good, I like the coupe better than the sedan

greenlanturn 03-26-2005, 07:23 AM looks pretty sweet i think although the grills are a little too baller, i'd totally rock the vert :D
OneFastM3 04-02-2005, 03:21 PM were they blindfolded when they were asked to design the new 3 coupe:bluecryin

You're kidding right?
I think its great. :buttrock
¶Pho€nix 04-04-2005, 02:06 AM Those pics are OLD. Waaaay even before the e90 was ever known to the public.
ihaveadent 04-11-2005, 05:17 PM well looks like you e46 coupe owners can rest at night knowing that your cars will retain good value cuz nobody is gonna want that e90 coupe.
fun2drive 04-27-2005, 09:54 PM Is the new E90 vert coming with a retractable hardtop or not? I have read both versions that they are and are not going to produce this retractable hardtop.
Confused, anyone know for sure?
dave is cool 04-27-2005, 11:24 PM The coupe looks great.
To all the people saying the E90 sales are going to be horrible, how can you say that? People were saying that about the current 7 Series, and look where it's at right now; it's the best-selling 7 Series ever released. And might I add, best-looking too.

1995red318i 05-10-2005, 04:04 PM looks good! i like how they finally got the idea to give all 3 series those rounded mirrors instead of those brick like side mirrors they have now and were on the e36 too.
325isracer 05-11-2005, 05:56 PM I dont think it looks that bad, but the grille looks too futuristic and it looks too elongated(sp?)..dunno should have just stuck w/e46 body IMO
flampy 05-11-2005, 09:28 PM fugly
wanabe 05-12-2005, 11:38 AM i have to say this is one time where pics dont do justice-
i saw the convert last night, not expecting to be impressed with the styling, but i was...
the wheels on the link above are part of the problem with that car, imo.
the body on the new car is very smooth- yes, much rounder than previous models, but the car wears its new curves well.
i understand that styling is opinion- but mine is that bmw made a much better move than i had anticipated!
