Was wondering if anyone knows where I can have my rims refinished in the san diego area and how much for all 4?

Call U.S. Wheel in El Cajon. 619 596-8033. They just straightened and refinished my wheels for $80 apiece. Not only that, but they also have BMW rims there (OEM) that they sell for $125. And they've never been mounted. Not a bad place for this money pit of an area...

If you need curb rash repair:

Nathan Pittman of "Velvet Touch" Wheel Services, Inc. 760-846-0942. He charged me $95 for one wheel with most damage and $75 for the other 2 with less damage. He's mobile and will come to your house or work.

NOTE: Be sure you clean your wheels of brake dust thoroughly before he works on them. I missed a few spots and he sprayed clearcoat on the brake dust and it became semi-permanent. I managed to get them cleaned with paint thinner and a towel.

Do either of those places happen to refinish in a different finish? I've thought about taking my M contours and having them polished black centers and chrome lips, or something.

I've been trying to get Matt from Velvet touch to do my 528iT's wheels but since it's been raining so much down here in San Diego, we've had to postpone it. :(

How long did it take to repair each wheel? (for those of us with not much time on our hands)

It took them a week to do two, but when I dropped them off, he said were really busy, so I told him I wasn't in a hurry. I'm sure if you call him up, you might be able to find out better how long it will take if you're short on time...

They did an awesome job, but the place is hard as hell to find. You're probably not going to be able to put them back on your car for a couple days after they're refinished anyway, because of the clear coat...
