I hear all the time not to use armor all for the dash or sprays that contain silicone. My dash is looking dull, so how do I get that shine back in the dash? BTW, 95 M3.

I've posted here before, but their are actually very useful people in this forum, so making a useless point in this forum is more dumb then it would be in many of the other forums :D

I've used Vinylex for a while and it works great for me.

:D The 303 is water based so you will get a satin finish- 303 can also be used on tires
303 Aerospace Protectant (http://www.autogeek.net/303aerprot.html)

Also a NEW favorite
Mothers Protectant (http://www.autogeek.net/mo5324.html)

If you like a semi-gloss look on your dash than vinylex (http://www.autogeek.net/lexsprayvin.html) is the answer-

I just started using the vinylex. I like it, it's not to shiny. If your low on funds and don't like it real shiny, you can wet a MF towel and get it as dry as possible. Spray pretty heavy with Pledge (Furniture Polish) and wipe it over your interior. For the price it is the best thing you can do. It also resists dust... I don't think that it offers any protection from the sun...

Before, I used to apply Vinylex and then wipe down with a wet towel to cut the Vinylex and it gave a nice sheen-not shiny, but not matte like stock.

Now, I use Sonus Cockpit Spray. Leaves a nice stock looking matte finish.

Many here have mentioned a preference for the 303 Aerospace Protectant and I second their judgement. I don't think anyone had yet mentioned the fact that it protects from UV in a huge way. It cleans, imparts a nice finish, not too shiny and best of all, protects your valuable dash from those nasty UV rays. UV protection is much more critical in convertibles of course.

I just started using 303 Protectant. As a personal preference I like 303 better than Vinylex, which is also good.

I think the general thought on armor all is that if you don't continue using it, or other silicone based protectants, they then dry out and crack your dash.

Thanks for the info. I think it looks good when it's first put on.

Poorboy's Natural look

The shine isn't overly glossy and it smells nice.

Also, I thought that Armor All had been reformulated so it didn't leech the moisture out of stuff.

I used 303 for years. Great stuff, BAD shine. Once I tried Klasse's Vinyl cleaner/protector, I'll never go back. Excellent protectant, without the shine.

What do you use to apply and remove you preferred interior cleaner? Also, do you use it on the other plastic interior parts, or do you use something else for those parts?

For interior cleaning, I mist a clean terry towel with Griot's Interior Cleaner.

To apply 303 or Vinylex to interior vinyl and plastic, I use a terry-covered foam applicator pad and wipe off the excess with a dry, clean terry towel.
