Does anyone know if you can get helmets recertified? I have a SA-95 helmet in great condition. I really don't want to buy a new one if I can just shell out $50-100 to get my re-certified for whatever the most recent rating is.

Nope. For just a bit more $$ you can have a brand new G-Force helmet anyway.

And once the SA-05 helmets are out, the SA-00 ones should drop in price.

recertified would mean putting it through the tests... it could get a new sticker, but it would be a dropped, hammered, speared, and burned POS when it comes back to you. :stickoutt

Besides, I used to think the helmet manufacturers were nuts saying you should replace a helmet after 5 years. That is, until I replaced an 8 year old helmet with another of the same kind. When I got the new one I realized just how bad the old one was. I was lucky I never hit my head with that thing the last couple of years I used it. Very sobering.
