I am on the east coast as well. Boston based BMWs dont get much respect or love in the tuning world or european car because most of turners and cars are out the West coast. By the way I love PROJECT M3, with the lovered CF hood and Turbo. That car is awesome! Don't rebuilt that engine or the head again..LOL. :) later, Joe Vader M3 03-22-2005, 11:12 AM thanks for kind words, guys! Unfortunately, that's exactly what was going on. Turns out the keen sert wasn't holding the head stud in well so after I tried anything higher than 11psi on the dyno the head lifted (we knew this would be a possibility since one of the studs around cyl#1 only held 55 ft-lb, and that's where it lifted). So I'm going back to my original 3.0L head, boring it out to fit new pistons, using same rods, but I'm going to use some stuff in the engine I never got a chance to before. Also, turbo will be relocated and exhaust will be all new, including headers. While I was at it, I figured since my head was stock I'll go ahead and get it done right. Stock valve sizes, but going with much better springs, retainers, etc. This will be the last time! ;). I've read about it so much that I have lost track on how many times you have pulled and replaced the head on that beast. I hope you get everything sorted out so you can drive the crap outa it.
