Hey guys... this past Friday I went and put a down payment on a 2002 Mini Cooper!!:buttrock

I haven't ordered the specifics yet... but I think I'm going to get the sports package and the xenon headlamps as options. The sport package includes 16" 5 star rims (instead of the 15" stock rims) stiffer shocks and springs, sports seats, and bigger sway bars:redspot

I'll be getting it Cosmos black exterior with a black roof and the black leatherette interior with either the black accents or the silver accents (I think I'm leanin towards the silver).... I'm SO excited about gettin this car!! I should get it around the end of September or the beginnin of October... woohoo!!:D :D

YES!!! I made Willy Jealous! After I get it wanna trade bimmers? ;) I wanted to get the S but I couldn't really afford it... I couldn't even really afford this right now... thank God for summer jobs :D

btw: I forgot that the sports package also includes fog lights :)

One day I'll get a Mini Cooper S as a daily driver. If I can ever manage to divert some of the M mod money to a different cause.

BTW: how much are those things?

I've seen one, when I was passing through Kansas City. It was black, with yellow racing stripes. But they didn't go stright back, they were curving over the fenders (it had to be a factory job).

The guy, that was driving it, was barely fitting in it. His head had to be rubbing on the roof liner :)

They claim to have enough room for a guy who is 6'7" to fit in the front... not too sure about that but I fit fine and I'm pushin 6'3" They are deceptively large... I think they actually have more interior room than an e36 :dunno

I think those stripes are an free optional addition if you get the sport package on the Cooper S... I haven't seen anything about the stripes on the regular Cooper.

Anyway, it'll be about 20k with the sports package and the xenon lamps... they are about 18k base....

You ordered today and you expect delivery late September???? I ordered my car last Monday and I should get it late July, early August!

Thats what the dealer told me.... I ordered mine from Princeton BMW in NJ... did you order a Cooper S?? The wait on those is a bunch longer. At this dealer they had 2 on the lot that weren't even sold yet.... :dunno

Nope, plain old Cooper with a CVT from Mini of Hawaii. We have a bunch of Coopers on Oahu and a handful of Cooper S'.

Lucky.....I would love to have an S...those are so nice...and it'd be so much easier to drive around DC *not to mention park* with a Mini

Yeah, it is kind of annoying. I try to think of it this way: it will help take the edge off returning to school:clap: I won't even be in NJ for the summer so I guess its not that big of a deal.

Everybody keeps sayin how it'd be nice to have a Cooper S even though I'm gettin a regular one.... kinda like somebody saying "I just ordered a 330" and people goin "man, those m3s are HOT!" :confused: ;) :buttrock :laugh :D

Yeah, I saw where Princeton BMW had a few Minis on the lot, are they all spoken for?

The saleswoman said that all of the MINIs on the lot were spoken for except for a regular cooper that had the aero kit, 17s and a bunch of other extras that they were tryin to sell for 27k!!

That's alright, an independent is asking $28k for a Cooper w/ leather. No body kit, no 17s.

Just bought a Chili Red Mini w/ sports package!

I needed a car to drive since it seems all my other cars are dying. The 750il is in for cosmetic surgery. A little rhinoplasty as the nose is broken from a little run in on Memorial Day. The 325i just had a blood transfusion yesterday and now she's bleeding, alot. Of course the 635 is street legal, but no AC and the suspension is mighty bumpy!

Wow, congrats! Don't you just love those sport seats? I sat in one at the dealer and I was like "Damn... these seats alone are worth the $1200 extra!" How about a little write up?

Yes one of the things that drove me nuts when I moved here from PA, at the time I also had a Harley, totally customized, about $24K invested in that bike, and there was no way I was gonna let anyone but me fill up both tanks....

You still should've went out school at got some fat ass 10" wheels like the RHD Mini's have.
