Just looking for some people to hang out with, drive, ect. Kentucky seems to get no love on this forum. Of course I'd also like to find someone in/near ky selling a nice set of rims for a moderate price. :) Anyhow, just random post. Probally will end up ='ing teh ban. :devillook

Well, I am here in Lex. I have not had much luck finding folks to hang with either. I know there is a BMWCCA group here in town that meets everyother month but I have managed to not know about it until afterwards.

I am going to go to Atlanta for the April 16 meeting of the SEBOC group which is also going to tie in with this group.

Hopefully more will log on here. There are a few more that have signed on with the SEBOC group. I will see if we can't get together a bit later in April for a day at Keeneland or something.

that sounds pretty neat. I warn you now, my car is in embarasing shape, lmao. It had an unfortunate run-in with some safety devices and doesn't look its best because of it. :(

I don't know what kind of Bmw you may boast, but I've got a 1985 318i and even though its one of those black-sheep bmw's I love it to pieces. Paid for it myself, and have been trying to turn it from a money chasim into a money pit.

Not to worry what it looks like. Thing to do is have fun with the car. Let me see if I can get a couple more folks together and we can all hook up.

Just a heads up. While I try very hard not to act like it at any time, I am sliding down that razor blade of life toward, and I really hate to say this, 50. But, in my defense I have been a gear head since 70 and still manage to keep up with those of you who are much younger. So, bear with me.

LMAO. Sorry, its cool. I've got some older friends about, and i tend to try and respect my elders. not only because they've generally got deeper pockets than me, but because alot of the time they know neat little tricks and tips.

Halon,

We really need to get something started on this end of the state. There are way to many cars in the area. Also, I will connect with the SEBOC and Bimmerfest group and see what starts to come up. Maybe we can have something for the Keeneland Concours in August.

well, i'm a member although I don't drive a BMW... yet. I am in Louisville, and currently drive a 1989 Turbo Supra, although I'd like to sell it along with my CRX project car and consolidate them into a mid-90's 3 series. If you guys want, you could help me sell my cars and I could show up at some bimmer meets!! :bigthumb:

Maniac, there are a lot of car guys down there by Ft. Knox, and the local 1/8th track is right near Ft. Knox.

All right, I'm here in Kentucky. All I have to say is thank goodness I'm in the Army and can buy alcohol on post....this place would drive me nuts if I had to drive out in the boondocks just for something to drink.

I've driven around and haven't seen many car enthusiasts around...but I'll keep my eyes out. Where is this track?

How much are they ? Any details ? Pics ? I might be interested.

Back on topic: I'd be willing to drive out to Lexington or something to meet up with some other BmW folks. :buttrock

Well, I am in Lexington and I believe Halon is here but I have not seen him. We could get together sometime soon. I am going to be in Indy for the Car and Driver 50th anniversary thingie this weekend so it is out but after that I am good.

I would be happy to try and hook up the SEBOC KY guys and this group and see if I can find any others and set us up a day or evening to hook up.

I am on the southwest side of lex off of Harrodsburg Road which is convenient for Louisville and Bluegrass Parkway folks. There is an Applebees very near but there are many other places that we can go. Joe Bologna's Pizza down town is very good and has a good upstairs to meet.

Let me know when would be good and I will get the ball rolling. I will also try and hook up the local independent garage that specializes in Bimmers and Benzes to come also.

weekends are good for me. Lexington is about 2 hours away, so weekdays are impossible.

Z Couper,

I think that is KY the State, no KY the jelly but thanks for the advice. :)

But with Kentucky, we sometimes do need all the help we can get.
