hey every1,
Had a little fender bender in my 2000 Dinan5 yesterday....Upon further inspection, the orange turn signal lens is broken, but the outer plastic housing isnt even scratched :confused I really dont want to purchase an entire new headlight fixture to fix one stupid lens. Is there a way to open them up i.e. take a heatgun to the glue and pop em open? I will post pics tomorrow of the fender and headlight. The paint is perfectly fine, just a fairly good bow-in of the fender. Im hoping it can be popped back out because i really dont have enough cash to replace a fender and a xenon headlight.


So, has anyone popped open the headlights before?

Yes, I've seen it done before, I think he put a heat gun to the headlights and separated it. The yellow signal thingy comes right out.

okay, cool. I did it to my RX7's taillights before to fix them, was hoping Bimmers didnt epoxy them on or something.

i'm not sure where you can buy just the orange lense though...

If its a 2000 w/o angel eyes then you can replace just the lense. They go for reall cheap used 40-50 a set.

yup my lights are the standard 2000 xenon w/o the angel eyes. paul540/m3, would an online retailer like bavarian autosport have them?

Im sure they would, but they are more expensive, but if you just want the stock amber ones then check the for sale section as i know a lot of guys sell their used ones for dirt cheap. On the other hand you could upgrade to clear corners and im sure any reputable dealer would have them as well, or else they go for around $100 on ebay.
