I have recently aquired a 535i M 1990 model, the passenger door lock will not lock, on the remote, with the key, a million permatations with key in the lock, lifting handle, and standing with one leg in the air! :D Am I on the right track, or what?

You should probably open up the door and see what is actually preventing it from locking.
