ok, ive got a 93 325is 5sp with 150k miles (just broken in i say!).
well, i notice every once in awhile a whirring sound from the rear i think. its not very loud and its not all the time. i guess a good way to describe it is to think of a roots blower from across the parking lot, but i damn sure dont have one on my car. anyone have this sound in their car? anyone heard this sound and then their car blew up? (maybe the supercharger fairy dropped by the other day and hid one in my trunk or something...?) thanks

Me too. Happens whenever I turn on the air conditioning and I can hear a sucking sound till about 3k RPMs. I'm not sure if it would be classified as a turbo or supercharged sound though :D
