View Full Version : what type of leather care to use? sktlikeapro 03-16-2005, 08:34 PM just bought a 02 m3 and want a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner. what ones are bad and good? schwarzIIe36 03-16-2005, 08:53 PM Leatherique is probably the best, but is pretty expensive and has to be ordered. I like Lexol, it doesn't cost much and can be found at pep boys and seems to work pretty well. Steve530 03-16-2005, 11:31 PM just bought a 02 m3 and want a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner. what ones are bad and good? Go for the Leatherique. I've read that some treatments "clog" the smooth leather used on the M3s. Do a search. dunski 03-17-2005, 01:05 AM Leatherique. jimmieboi 03-17-2005, 03:33 PM I like the stuff BMW sells. Especially if the car is new, or had been well taken care of, it just maintains that original mat look and barnyard smell. :) Dnz 03-17-2005, 04:41 PM Lexol or leatherique is whats mentioned most on bfc. Obviously products from mothers and meguiars will also be decent. Car Fanatic 03-17-2005, 10:49 PM Leatherique -- Period. If you want to keep the interior looking great for a long time, there is no equal. It costs more than other products, but since you own a BMW, you're used to paying more for quality products. 5er Sport 03-17-2005, 11:21 PM I like the stuff BMW sells. I thought it was pretty lame. :confused Mantic 03-22-2005, 12:24 AM I'm sticking to my Connolly, maybe once it runs out i'll try letherique. The trick to a good conditioning is to make sure the leather is hot or atleast warm when apply the conditioner. I use a hair dryer when I do it on cold days. EOSphoto 04-14-2005, 01:37 AM Can leatherique actually get out small cracks in the bolsters? Or is it just a basic cleaning agent to get the dirt/sweat/grime out of the seats? G. P. Burdell 04-14-2005, 07:08 AM The basic combination of Rejuvenator Oil and Pristine Clean is for cleaning/conditioning only. Leatherique also offers dyes and crack fillers if you want to repair the leather. JuliusPleaser 04-14-2005, 07:14 PM Using products on your seats won't hurt, but stay off the stitching or it will rot and the seams will split. sirtiger 04-14-2005, 08:04 PM Leatherique also. good stuff 325FLY 04-15-2005, 10:19 PM I like the leatherique but Connolly products are very good too :buttrock estorilbmw 04-25-2005, 02:43 PM I like Connolly hide food.
