I am about ready to purchase a 2005 M3 since the new E90 M3 is not suppose to be available for at least two years. While browsing the internet tonight, I found a German Car website that mentioned late 2006, the new 400hp M3 would be available. If this is true, I will hold off on the 2005 model and wait.

I have spoken to several dealers that also say the new E90 M3 is several years away but I am leary that they just want an excuse to sell me something from their curent inventory. What is the latest word on the new M3?

Jim

no offense but if there was a latest word, dont you think everybody would know by now? or would the select few members of this forum that "might" possibly know decide to just keep it to themselves so they could go to bed every night thinking :

"i know all about the e90 M3 but i dont want to tell anyone because im l337!!"

Agreed. There is no such thing as accurate E90 M3 info. At this point, it is all just speculation.

go by bmw's history;

E36

- 1992 sedan introduced
- 1993 coupe introduced
- 1994 vert introduced
- 1995 M3 introduced

E46

- 1999 Sedan introduced
- 2000 Coupe and vert introduced
- 2001 M3 introduced

So if history repeats itself;

E90

- 2005 - 2006 sedan introduced
- 2006 - 2007 coupe and vert should introduced
- 2007 - 2008 M3 should be introduced

So by 2007 or 2008 is when we should see the new m3

Europe will likely see the car a year before we do.

The E36 M3 appeared earlier than that! The US market was the only one that didn't see it until '95

I thought that the Euro M3 that was sold in Canada was a 1994 (model year and everything)

It was. You can see them on Ebay Canada all the time.

What year is Big Lun's car?

and sides, the E36 coupe was introduced in 1992, the cabrios did not change until 1993 or 1994, not sure when. as of now, europe states that the E90 M3 is going to be a V8 with 400+ hp in it, not too sure about the torque, and the liter displacement.

You should lease an '05 ZCP for 24 months now and get the e90 //M3 when it hits the ground. You'll have good resale and the new model without killing your pockets.
