Alright, I am looking at daily drivers and I found a purple 1996 Pontiac Sunfire SE with 55,000 miles, 5 speed manual, and very close to where I live. Now I already have one purple car and it has balls to back it up, will I look like a total fag with two purple cars? I am straight, but I don't want girls to think I'm gay, I have enough luck as it is finding girls, none. Serious comments welcome, thanks.

Here is the car... Rob, I've met you a few times, and I have to say, if you buy a purple Sunfire, I couldn't hang with you again :D . The only upside to that car is that it's stick. Yes, your Trans-Am has the balls to back-up the fact that it's purple.

Trust me on this, as some people think my yellow car is gay. (I need to turbo it soon :evil2 )

That's a little much. Just strip it down to the primer.

just consider it a mini-me of your ballsy car.

1996 5spd with 55k on it is hard to pass up tho!

is there no other option? ...there must be, if not and you have looked around a lot...then :(

I never tend to care what color my car is, but I'm betting I could find many cars better than a Pontiac Sunfire for a daily driver.

yes.

Maybe you need to play the hand you're dealt?

I mean, if you drive purple cars and girls think you're gay, take advantage of the situation. let them think you're gay. then, one late night when you and the girls are having a sleepover, you could casually mention that you've always been curious what it was like with a woman, and that it wouldn't be wierd for her, since it would only be a one time thing. Score!

Serious comments welcome, thanks.
No problem.

come on now guys, its a beater, daily driver... something you wont feel horrible about if it gets dinged in the supermarket parking lot... and i think we can agree that none of us would much care if we got a ding in our sunfire.

I can think of a lot better choice for a beater than a Sunfire, especially with that car's reputation for reliability (or lack thereof).

i'd say keep looking a bit, if your having doubts then just wait, something better will come up, and then when your driving it past the HS girl driving her purple sunfire you don't have to think "that could have been me"

If it's just for a daily driver.... then it wouldnt matter what color it was or what people think of you. It isnt like youre going to be driving up to da club in the SUnfire.... unless youre going to Dream... Id be scared a Ford Festiva would get jacked down there. :confused

Yeah, this isn't my only option, but a 1996 with 55,000 miles is pretty damn good for $3,000. I will keep looking, I was more concerned with the fact it was a Sunfire too, I consider them girl cars.

For 3,000, I would think there are better daily drivers than a Sunfire... *shrug*

For a DD? Nah. No BMW you find for that little money is going to fill the requirements of a beater which should be:

1) Cheap to insure
2) Cheap to put gas in
3) Reliable

How well you rock purple depends on the actual color purple and the type of car and how the car is set-up, and to a lesser extent - what type of guy you are.
Same thing goes for yellow.

I have never seen a domestic purple car that I would want to be seen in.

I think a bad-ass italian or german car in a deep/dark VIOLET is . . . well, simply bad-ass.

I doubt i'd ever own 2 purple cars at the same time, though.

best beater car ever = 92-96 acura legend, will go 250k without too many problems, and is pretty sporty, get a 4dr and insurance is pretty good too

I'd like to help, but my car isn't purple. It's Techno Violet. :)

If I am messing around with friends, and they can’t think of anything to bust on me for, then I usually hear something about my purple car. It’s all in good fun. The color actually fits the M3 very well and to me doesn’t look out of place at all.

After they are done with their purple car comments, I usually let them know that they won’t have to look at my car long because “my grape of wrath” will blow their doors off.

That being said, I think you can find a better DD than a purple sunfire. Pick up used civic or camry that has a full maintenance record.

Nothing wrong with a purple Sunfire, as long as you put THESE in it. Just say it's your chick's car.....or ex-chick's car, if you are still on the prowl.
