View Full Version : OMG! some one debadged my Car
lugier 03-15-2005, 05:53 AM :mad OMG! some one debadged my Car, and did a really really bad job of it, looks like ther used a screw driver and then some sandpaper.
why would you want a 318IS badge anyway make there honda have 15 mor HP
Im wondering what i can do to return my rear to a nice debadged state
The pic won't load for me (I can't see any attached images), but man, that sucks. Guess you should try polishing it, hopefully the marks didn't go too deep.
noxipoo 03-15-2005, 06:44 AM people are a-holes and steal anything that be can stolen. Someone stole the H off my friends Honda CRV... i mean wtf? why?
lugier 03-15-2005, 07:10 AM saddly i think thay are quite deep, how much you recon to get fixed in NZ, i guess they will have to sand it down and repaint it.... :(
gota525i 03-15-2005, 10:04 AM Its obvious they really f'ed it up but cant tell how deep the scratches are, try some 3m polish followed by some waxing.
Same thing happened to me as well, they drove a screw driver across my trunk to take off my rear Honda emblem. People sure are assho's... :mad
5er Sport 03-15-2005, 11:35 PM :mad Someone that does that deserves to be caught in the act!
Steve530 03-16-2005, 01:59 AM So someone decided to steal the badge and then tried to sand off the residue? Really?
IslandS62 03-16-2005, 02:07 AM I don't really understand the sandpaper part of it. Are you sure YOU didn't try to sandpaper it?
Viking325i 03-16-2005, 02:14 AM You'd be looking at a respray of your trunk atleast I'd imagine, which could be expensive given your paint.
For my cosmos rear bumper on a repaint (no prep work) it was $500
hc1001 03-16-2005, 02:58 AM i confess it was me... i've been wanting a 318 badge to put on my debadged M3...
damn that really sucks... but yea, y would they stay there even longer and sand it down after they already have the badge?
timsev 03-16-2005, 03:57 AM you can get it wetsanded and buffed out. take it to a detailer that knows what they are doing and they can take care of it for almost nothing. and remember, a new badge will cover most of that.
332 RustBucket 03-16-2005, 04:45 AM man that sucks!! I can't believe some of the crap people will do :(
Justbimmering 03-16-2005, 01:55 PM Thats F-ed up. I would crack somebody neck if I would catch them. They can't even do it right. I feel bad for you man. Too bad you don't live arround where I live I can deff get that to look like new for free.
Alpine3.23 03-16-2005, 01:58 PM WTF
what confuses me is why the hell they would sand paper it after?
krayon 03-16-2005, 02:28 PM Are you sure you were not trying to get the residue off and used something abbrasive lke the scratchy side of a sponge? Noone in their right mind would de-badge a car and then try to remove the residue, it just doesn't make sense.
lugier 03-16-2005, 05:13 PM ignore the scratches, they were something else :( , maybe its time to paint the whole car black anyway :)
got a new 318is badge now but unsure if i really wanna put it back on
fatcat55 03-19-2005, 01:02 AM ignore the scratches, they were something else :( , maybe its time to paint the whole car black anyway :)

sonicpentatonic 03-19-2005, 04:29 PM we are curious, do tell
hc1001 03-19-2005, 05:50 PM leave the guy alone... he already feels bad... and we all kno what happened since the scratches are above the debadged area...
Clay'87IS 03-21-2005, 11:23 PM Bump, I wanna know how they got there.
krayon 03-22-2005, 07:59 PM Tell us. I promise no one will laugh. :devillook
I wanna know too now.
And yeah youll need to prob get the whole trunk repainted..
Or you can get a really big type R sticker and whack that on there.
Edit: Or a sticker with the words
"Some fucker stole my badge"
That would go down real well.
Bengali86 04-06-2005, 08:05 PM to get that sricky shiat off my trunk, i had to use a hairdryer, and a lot of polish to get it out.
no worries man, shiat happens. I got new tires put on my rims and i was soo excited to get rid of my stock rims, i did not think to check to see if the tires were directional.
i felt dumb when my girlfriend pointed it out to me :(
LOL
this guy just got owned. who in the hell would steal a badge then sandpaper it? it sounds like you did this to yourself. haha, almost had me convinced........;)
LOL
