The pic won't load for me (I can't see any attached images), but man, that sucks. Guess you should try polishing it, hopefully the marks didn't go too deep.

saddly i think thay are quite deep, how much you recon to get fixed in NZ, i guess they will have to sand it down and repaint it.... :(

Its obvious they really f'ed it up but cant tell how deep the scratches are, try some 3m polish followed by some waxing.

Same thing happened to me as well, they drove a screw driver across my trunk to take off my rear Honda emblem. People sure are assho's... :mad

So someone decided to steal the badge and then tried to sand off the residue? Really?

I don't really understand the sandpaper part of it. Are you sure YOU didn't try to sandpaper it?

You'd be looking at a respray of your trunk atleast I'd imagine, which could be expensive given your paint.

For my cosmos rear bumper on a repaint (no prep work) it was $500

i confess it was me... i've been wanting a 318 badge to put on my debadged M3...

damn that really sucks... but yea, y would they stay there even longer and sand it down after they already have the badge?

you can get it wetsanded and buffed out. take it to a detailer that knows what they are doing and they can take care of it for almost nothing. and remember, a new badge will cover most of that.

Are you sure you were not trying to get the residue off and used something abbrasive lke the scratchy side of a sponge? Noone in their right mind would de-badge a car and then try to remove the residue, it just doesn't make sense.

I wanna know too now.

And yeah youll need to prob get the whole trunk repainted..

Or you can get a really big type R sticker and whack that on there.

Edit: Or a sticker with the words

"Some fucker stole my badge"

That would go down real well.

to get that sricky shiat off my trunk, i had to use a hairdryer, and a lot of polish to get it out.

no worries man, shiat happens. I got new tires put on my rims and i was soo excited to get rid of my stock rims, i did not think to check to see if the tires were directional.

i felt dumb when my girlfriend pointed it out to me :(
