I found these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33649&item=7960513960&rd=1
Indicator Mirror Cover

Has anyone bought these? What do you think? I might get them, but not sure yet I wanted some feedback.

Maybe, too Benz "ish" ????

Ummmm.....

I think I'll pass. I'm not even a fan of Mercedes using them on their cars (visually anyway - I do suppose a safety benefit though...)

Either way -

I just sold 2 sets of those to some fellow 7 drivers in my area. As soon as
they are installed and pics are available I will keep you informed.

Quality seems to be good and they just need to be wired to the original
blinkers I guess but I will have information within the next weeks.

The winning bid was $81.00 - cheap enough to try. :redspot

I'd do away with the existing sidemarkers if I installed those. Overkill otherwise.

I am the winning bidder. I will let you all know after I get them. It may take me a while to actually install them though.

I'm not too high on these mirrors. If I had to get them I might as well get chromed curb feelers too. :)

I'm not particularly crazy about them either, but I have something a little more interesting in mind.

Keith,

Just like those mods we see in parts of Carson, Wilmington and east Long Beach? :)

Hey Al,
You've seen 'em also, huh? Yes, just like those. I'm sure that's not what Dave's got up his sleeve. I'm really curious what he's got planned. How's that new wagon doing? Say Hi to Arlette for me.

By the way - the mirror indicator covers will be able in chrome soon - just
in case it is of any interest.

Dave, you are such a risk taker! Pics will be nice, I'd lke to see how these look.

I am going to be doing cosmetic mods this spring. Starting with a full tint (and highlights). This will be followed by another full shave, oh wait we're talking cars...

Seriously (yeah right ;) ) , I am curious what you have in mind. I think these might look pretty good with the tint job. I'll have to think about it. :thinkerg

Can anybody spell tacky :rolleyes Chrome mirrors!!!! :nono unless you have a full chrome car

I tell you what i did think of doing....

you can get small l.e.d side markers about the same size as the Ac schnitzer emblems.... putting them in replace of my mirror badges :D

As for wiring them up it should be pretty straight forward follow the electric mirrors wiring into the car and either piggy back the standard side repeater cable or cut power to the original and have it straight to the mirrors, you are remembering about the fact that the 7 has a smart sensor for the lights wattage etc so when you replace say a bulb with a l.e.d the waring comes.

example
http://forums.***************************************?attachmentid=102142&stc=

see how replacing the front side lights with the l.e.d equivelant caused the computer to think the lights where not working and there for the front side repeaters are stuck to a constant on

I'll keep mine oem....I ain't touchin a single wire on the E65 7's. I do however want to replace headliner lights to amber orange...maybe even the led's under the mirrors when you unlock and get near the vehicle.

I think you may have to touch some wires to do that ;)
