The car (yellow M3 [Joe here]) is amazing! So my dad, who thought it was just a pimped piece of rice, now talks non-stop about how amazing it is :rolleyes . I just have a question about the security system-- is there a way to just disconnect it? I put a battery in the remote for the keyless entry. Its a pain--when i lock it, it has to be in valet mode, because otherwise the alarm goes off if someone looks at the car wrong; but when its in valet mode, you cant open the trunk or hood without switching it to "system disarm" mode. Other than that the car is totally amazing.

One more thing-- can the angel eyes be hooked up?

I knew after your dad saw it in person he would like it too. Just about everyone LOVES that car. (i know i miss it already, you be nice to her! LOL :D )


anyway, as for the alarm.
I am not 100% on the entire way it works. If you remember i showed you the coin slots can change it from "city" to "country" mode. the country mode makes it so you can still be near the car, even try and open the handel but it stays locked. The alarm will not trigger this was unless someone is trying to "slim-jim" the door or break a window.

The City mode is a whole new ball game. SUPER sensitive. If you even put your hand on the car it will go off most of the time.

If you want me to remove the alarm (i agree its a pain in the butt) and just get a normal type factory system going i can do that.
If your fine with just using the Key to lock and unlock the car i can set it up that way too.

and for the angel eyes i have a plan. I would need to take apart the housing and see if they are even connected. That might be the problem there. If not its just a matter of sottering in new LEDs. (i never even tried to hook them up.)

If you wanted to upgrade to the DDE from umnitza I think its like $160.oo + shipping. But then you get the SUPER bright fiber optic like rings. just an idea.

Im off for spring break friday, so maybe ill stop by somtime next week to see what we can do about the alarm. And as far as the angel eyes go, maybe ill do the dde's later, they sound pretty cool. The car is amazing, but today was the first day i got owned... by a ducatti! I was on rt100 coming in from wilmington, and he just killed me, like i wasnt even moving.Gooooooood times haha

Yes, those little steel "nubs" are what switches the car from "country" to "city".

If you press and hold both of them down for ~3 sec. You will see the little red light (next to the seat heater) flash a few times or it will light up solid red.

I dont remember exactly which is which....But push them both down and mess around with it a few times(lock car and try to open it). You'll see what is what.
