i just recently bought a V1 but im not sure about it if it was worth it. I know that cops dont use radar on regular roads but do they use radar on the highway. I see a whole bunch of white lines on the highway and always wonder if they are speed traps. when im driving on 95 near philly, it never goes off just false alarms. i know they stop cars all the time but how? there no place for a cop to hide and i never get a radar signal. when i drove down to poconos a couple time on the turnpike, the radar went off once or twice but no cops. wat the heck, im not sure if this thing is worth it or is it just that cops werent clocking anyone those times.

VASCAR (http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=5500)

Don't know if they use it in PA or not. Keep your V1. If it saves you from a ticket only once in your life it'll pay for itself.

They def do. I was on 202 going to the King of Prussia mall, and a cop was on an exit ramp with a radar gun... just waiting to get someone. Your V1 will come in handy one of these days-- after a few times it saves you, it will have paid for itself.

i was in the same boat as you, except i had the x50. for an entire 2 months, it NEVER ever went off and if it did, nothing was to be seen.

Then all at once, within a week, I picked up 4-5 cops that would of caught me if it weren't for the x50. Trust me man, it will pay off

That king of Prussia Mall is HUGE!

State Troopers use radar, townies use VASCAR (or other non-radar methods) although I heard rumors that some townships are now allowed to use radar. Bad part is that those that do will be buying the newest instant-on type which will be harder to detect.

Ukraine woot! Uzhorod!

anyway, I know there are some vascar lines on 95s on the long straightaway before broad st exit. I allways break to 9mph over the limit when I see any white lines

while in/near the city or airport. I just turn the "power" down to about 1/2.
The only time the "high" setting relly helps is when your moving 180+ and you need to know if there is a radar gun 3-5 miles up the road.

While in the city itself. Your better off using you eyes then relying on the V1. For one the city cop dont use radar. Two, i can see them before/if the V1 even goes off.

Other then that i always have mine turned down a little bit or off. Because, YES, it goes off at everylast thing it thinks is "K" band.

on the highway, its at about 80-80% full power.

also, i have found that most cop only use "Ka" and "Lazer" anymore. "K" and "x" are near worthless. Unless you speeding down the hallways of a hospital.

how would a cop see the white lines from far away. he cant even hide on 95. i have seen them emrge out of no where. thats what i was wondering about. i see lines on turnpike too but hopw could a cop clock a car from a distance. can someone explain that. so cops on highways use vascar and radar in PA?

In VA they use aircraft. A cop in a plane times you then radios down to a waiting cruiser to pull you over.

BEWARE OF VASCAR. too many tickets in my area for you not to worry. just look for huge white lines on the ground ahead.
