Hey Everybody-

I finally replaced my amber front/side markers with OEM clear. They look great, but after I changed them the lcd message screen says "Check Side Lights"

I checked them, and they work fine.

When I took out the amber lights, I did unplug the connector that holds the bulb in place, put I put it back in place later.

Any ideas?

I did mine with no issues. I'd put your original ones back in & test those. If no warning, put the new ones back in. Maybe try swapping an old with a new & determine which one gives you the warning. I don't believe there are any other type of bulbs we're supposed to use. It should have worked fine, if the bulb is sitting in the snap in holder correctly.

PS (added 3/14) - I was assuming it was your side markers that gave you the problems. I agree with IslandBeef if the problem is in your front corners.

Well thats the thing, I am using the EXACT same bulb holder for the clear markers, that was in the orange ones. No warning ever came up with the amber ones.

Strange isn't it?

Exact same bulb holder (socket) and bulb, for both the front corner and the side marker?

If you are using the single filament bulbs & sockets that came with the kit you will get the message. In order to make the message go away you will have to use an amber double filament bulb with your old stock sockets. Dual filament bulbs can be had at any local parts store for about $1.50 a pair.

The weirdest thing happened today, it just went away. I did nothing.

By the way, it did have the dual fillament bulb, and same connector on the front/sdie markers.

Thanks for all the help though!

Speaking of which, are burned out headlights detected by the MID and displayed? I have a feeling I was ripped off by the people doing my state inspection.

Yes. ANY exterior bulb that burns out will give a warning.
