View Full Version : Awesome run with white E36 M3
maxofthewell 03-13-2005, 02:11 AM So about 10 minutes ago(around 12:55AM), I'm driving home from my friends on Park Heights. I'm behind my friend who drives an explorer. We both go through the intersection. The road turns into a dotted yellow line and I proceed to pass my friend. Immediately after I pass him, this white e36 M3 with a body kit and exhause comes up from behind my friend and passes him. At this point I'm going about 90MPH. Now for those of you who don't know, there is a perfectly straight stretch of road that goes on for a bit with no cars ever on it. I wanted to see how fast I could get on it so I continue accelerating all the way up to around 125MPH. The whole time the M3 is on my tail doing the very same. It was very awesome and adrenilating. This was such a fun run. Whoever it is, if you're on here, lemme know...it was awesome.
SBCDestroy 03-13-2005, 05:56 AM Not a very good post at best.
1996 328ti 03-13-2005, 09:42 AM Only 125? You gotta chip that puppy to remove the speed limiter.

How hard is it to do this and what's the top speed without it?
Also, is it something you can do to a leased car with the ability to reinstall it at a later date without them knowing it was ever gone?

I suspect it to be a gimmick account. I also have my suspicions (which I feel to be accurate) regarding the user's true identity.
SBCDestroy 03-13-2005, 04:25 PM I <3 the fact that you all keep tabs on me and that if you're not in the "mid-atlantic hot boy click" you can't joke about ANYTHING. Once again I won't respond or click on this thread again so please feel free to chat it up about me.
Who is it, Dave? PM me if you want...

I can hit ~170 in 5th and 155 in 6th.

That doesn't make sense...
1996 328ti 03-13-2005, 05:31 PM That was supposed to be a sarcastic comment.
I think any racing in the street is stupid, regardless how straight the road is or how good you think you are. Off my soap box for now.

No idea what the top speed would be. You could get a Conforti chip ($350) and reload the stock software back into the DME. I don't know if the dealer would even realize it was chipped unless they took it past stock redline or flogged the thing.

And the gravel trap at zero. ;)

I don't think it's at all neccessary to remove the speed limiter...125MPH once a year is enough for me. That was the first time, and probably the last I have ever done that...it was probably really stupid but I just wanted to do it to know that I had done it before. It's not even that exhilerating except to know in your head that you are going that fast. IMO, accelerating up to 60 is much more fun...
