I know this isn't necessarily E38 specific, but the movie at the link below is perhaps the best Hot Lap of the Nordschleife I have ever seen. Certainly better than the hot lap I drove :(

Yea, that guy's pretty crazy. Apparently he arrived late to the race and didn't have time to qualify. That's why he passes the entire field to get to the front. That's where he normally races.

Gotta love the sound of that rear diff. screamin under his car.

Hans Joachim is a real cool guy! We call him Strietzl, means something like Sweet Bread(It's basicly a special Bavarian kind of sweet Bread :confused ). That M3CSL Race (GTR) is a waycool car.I love the racing version... :evil2
Simeon, do you remember the CSL GTR we saw racing on the Ring? We also were in the Pit of that car.... :cool

Today I've send the GTR Video to some of my colleagues @work.

That video is great! I was thinking it looked sped up as well but that dosent explain the fact that he DUSTED everone else on the track. That track is silly!

It's to be said the best, most challenging, longest and most intense but also most fun to drive track in the world. In a regular TouringCarRace Lap Times are around 11min20sec in the average... The Lap you saw with Strietzel is so killing for tires, clutch and brakes, that after three laps in that pace, they have to exchange the clutchdisk the tires and at least the pads...

that wasn't his diff, it was his straight gear tranny.
