 nice boost controller....
FastrTHNu 03-10-2005, 05:55 PM Very nice Tim. Think all that will be in by our next meet? :D
depends on when the next meet is.
I am getting the clutch/ LTW FW in next week. Should be done that by wed-maybe thur. if my lift gets too held up. I want to run the clutch for about ~500 miles w/o the boost so i can "bed" it in properly.
The turbo kit should be on the car in the next 2-3 weeks. If all goes as planned the BBK should be on in the next month. I am not 100% sure on the BBK, cause the dang turbo alone is going to cost a pretty penny, so...
plus i would need to find bigger wheels to clear a set of "BIG REDS".
As for the boost controller i am still unsure. This one i am talking of seems to be a bit more then i need. But it has some REALLY cool features.
What was the fellow in the RX-7 using? (forgot his name, sorry bud)
Talk to you all tomorrow.
sardil 03-10-2005, 06:33 PM :cashwalle
Glenn95 03-10-2005, 09:09 PM Tim, if you don't mind me asking, what does a turbo kit cost? Is it cheaper than a supercharger?
The guy in the rx-7's name is Shawn. I'm not sure what he was running in there. I know his car is fast and beat Dru's, the 01 M coupe. I think he runs low 4's in 0-60.
sunir 03-10-2005, 09:21 PM Tim...you just picked up a new clutch & flywheel, your getting a turbo and a BBK and wanting wheels now...all of this after you agreed to buy my brakes several weeks ago and at the last minute told me money is tight and you had to back out because Turner had a better deal or something...then you tell me you wanted it for spares...then I never hear back from you...and now you've got thousands in parts going onto your car... :rolleyes
when I met you I thought you were cool...now I know otherwise, that's not cool man, you had me make my guy clean, package, and get everything ready for you and then cancel at the last second before he was going to ship, now I hear you've gotten all this stuff when before it was a different story...I understood that stuff happens and felt what you were sayin' and now I hear all this man, how am I supposed to feel man! Reputation is everything and how you deal with someone is so important, it's a small enthusiast community.
sardil 03-11-2005, 12:59 AM If he were getting a turbo and a BBK, that would mean money is tight isn't it :dunno
you had me make my guy clean, package, and get everything ready for you and then cancel at the last second before he was going to ship, now I hear you've gotten all this stuff when before it was a different story
Ohh shit...damn Tim goodluck getting out of this. But i'm glad you got the turbo kit finally. Can't wait to cruise with ur TT turbo m3 and my RMS supercharged M3...should both be pretty badass...V8 Killers What!! -Mike
NoSoup4U 03-11-2005, 09:44 AM Make sure to enforce your subframe portions. You'll rip things. Also, do not go cheap on installation and suspension components. Whatever you "think" it will cost you, add about 50% to that total. Congratulations. Being boosted is fun -- really think about it though. You will NOT get any of your money out of doing this. That apexi is nice; but, way overkill. You will not touch it once you get your mappings done correctly. Profec B is fine enough as it is.
How much boost do you plan on running? Are you getting ARP head stud kit and the MLS headgasket to lower cr, or, are you building the engine?
ComBIRDable 03-11-2005, 09:57 AM Tim,
You might want to think about securing the oil pump nut if you are doing the lightweight flywheel. Some people think having a lightweight flywheel is a contributor to the oil-pump-nut-falls-off problem. If you are taking the car apart to do the install, it might be worth it to go all the way, drop the oil pan and secure the nut.

sorry sunir. i didnt know this would bother you that much. like i said, mula is tight being that i am buying this whole turbo set-up.
I dont understand why your so angered by this. It was only ~$400.oo, that i am sure some other member would gladly buy. I did also tell you after i get some more $$ back together maybe ill buy your stuff...(even though it was not a very good price)
you make it seem like i had you send me the stuff and never paid you for it.
I even said i was REALLY sorry and offerd to buy you drinks the next time we are at the same track. Your reply was no that is was no big deal and you would take me up on the drinks. now your sitting here telling me i'm not cool and you know better now? :dunno
I also was thinking about buying your set-up. But after being told i am basicly a d*ck. I think ill spend my money else where.
I am not 63 years old, so i am not making "the big bucks". I saved for over a year to buy this turbo set up.

I have herd that before, a few times. I will be doing it as well.

I already figured out the entire cost of the project and everything has been worked out. As for not getting the money back out of it... I dont plan on selling the car ANY time soon. Until i can afford a 996 or 997 twinturbo, ill be rockin the E36. I love these cars anyway, so no big deal to me.

Tim, please try and understand that I the money ($400) is not the issue, I spend that on fuel alone for one race weekend with the car and truck, you know that...
What I am talking about was the subsequent 6 or so email exchange leading up to it where you committed to getting this setup from me and then after I had Pete pull the parts from the storage shelves, check everything over, clean them, package them, put together the shipping order (since these were coming from a shop)...you tell me the following:
"Sunir,
I was just on turner's web site and they have one heck of a deal going on.
For right around $630 (retail) i can get F&R (fronts float) rotors, SS brakes lines (F&R) and pads.
(i dont REALLY need to calipers)
I think i am going to just go that route."
and tell me that you really need the rears ....when you knew all along what I was selling all along didn't include the rears, saying you're buying stuff for the car as needed, I guess the car needs a turbo :rolleyes ...why didn't you do your research before committing to buying something from someone?
"I'm not raking in the big bucks, so i have to buy stuff for the car as needed. It is to the metal on the rears now.
Like i said, i will still want the stuff for spares. I just need to be able to drive my car to make the money, to buy the stuff."
I know you were apologetic and that's cool Tim, like I said, I understand...the issue here was never about money but about the principal (If I give my word to someone I make sure I try and keep it, making right may take a bit of time but I I try to always do good by my word...if tables were turned and I had committed to buying something from you, I would make sure I got that even if that meant that I'd have to resell it because I really needed the cash to buy other mods), you made it seem like you were strapped for cash and needed to get some immediate and basic brake maintenance work done on your car...I was under the impression that here's a guy who is trying to just maintain his vehicle, he doesn't make that much money so he just wants something basic to get by...that's fine, and like I said I understood...you never once said...hey Sunir I don't want the setup as money is tight because I am getting a turbo kit, new wheels etc...etc...and even then tell me in the second email, don't wait till the 7th one when I had someone else from the shop get everything ready for you (do you have any idea of how busy these guys are before the season??? hint, this shop races in Grand Am and SWC and the guy had to take time to find my takeoff parts from storage, check/prep/clean and get them packaged and ready for you)...yes, I asked him to make sure everything was perfect because it was going to a friend...someone that I wanted to have everything just right when they got the package...
do you see where I'm coming from Tim?????

Yes Sunir, i see where you are comming from 110%.
I said i was really sorry. You said, at the time, it was no big thing :confused .
Other then that i dont know what else to say?
I am kinda pissed that someone would do this type of thing this long after the whole thing took place. But whatever, i dont want to be in a pissing match with another racer/BFer. I would rather be friends then enimies. It seems you dont feel the same way.
i'm still willing to buy some drinks, so lets not let this get out of hand. This way the next time we are at the track at the same time everything will be in the good, i can assume?
Damn Sunir thats sorta a bitch move pulling out the emails/PMs from Tim. You just have to understand that things change and if your bragging that $400 is just fuel costs for one weekend, then just leave it along. Why do have to come on this thread (Where at the beginning of it Tim was the happiest man alive soon to be boosted) and just slander him. Tim's a good guy and i'm sure he didn't mean to dick you on purpose but you just gotta get over it you girl. Sell them to someone else and just all be friends.. :buttrock

sunir 03-11-2005, 05:01 PM I wanted to bring this up because it's not about money...you fuckers that try to throw your 2 cents into this...it isn't about you...try and understand that...
This is about principal, not cash...and about the brakes, I could care less, it doesn't matter to me...I brought this up when I saw this thread...I've met Tim before, he seems like a cool guy, which is why I was surprised and brought this up...

do I know you...how are you involved in this??? I am not slandering Tim, that is not my intention...
Yes Sunir, i see where you are comming from 110%.
That's all I want is for you to understand my point and see where I was coming from...I needed to bring it up because I felt as though it was relevent. that's all.
Tim, as for us being friends and such that is cool with me...see you at the track...as far as I'm concerned, it's squashed...all good :)
as for the rest of you on Tim's nuts, if you cannot understand my point you are just fucking stupid.
dcardenas 03-11-2005, 05:15 PM On Tim's nuts? I simply find it irritating that you have to whine like a woman (no offense ladies). You make it everyone's business when you post private emails and/or private messages in a public forum.

am I whining??? don't think so...I am bringing up a point that is all...regardless I could give a rat's ass what you think...as for posting private messages here, I selected a portion of the message, which I felt was pertinent and posted that with commentary thereafter...like I said, this is about a dealing I had with Tim, that's all...it's not about parts, it's not about money, it's about principal...and he understands that...the rest of you don't...
your always taking a jab at me when you can dcardenas in threads that we post on (like the thread about the wheel shop where I was giving another member a possible good shop to point him in the right direction possibly)...I never take a jab at you for no reason man, and stuff that doesn't involve me about you, I wont post on...but here you are again...and you call me a woman :confused ...looks like your the the one who's a bitch... :rolleyes

So I'm a bitch for calling you a woman? Maybe I'm too "fucking stupid" to understand this logic.
You don't have to reply to this if you don't want to because I'm done. This is pointless.
