SilverStreak 05-23-2002, 01:49 PM OZ3M, do you have that link to all the info about your car handy?
Thanks!! :buttrock

Kevlar 05-23-2002, 02:38 PM Is this a coupes only kinda thing or a whole BMW gathering?
SilverStreak 05-23-2002, 02:51 PM Thanks, JediZ! :buttrock
I am pretty sure everyone will be happy to see more cars...
Hey Silver, JediZ replied with the link earlier, but all the good stuff about the car is at active's site, if you have any questions just shoot...:)
SilverStreak 05-23-2002, 05:23 PM I love your car and was trying to dig up the link a few days ago... :D
Dark Helmet 05-23-2002, 05:59 PM don't mind me, just post-whorring through
SilverStreak 05-23-2002, 06:03 PM OZ3M, did you do any recent mods to your car? The HP figures seem larger... :)
I am in need for more traction, I mean I need it badly, lately I am spinning the 285 SO3ss in third around 90 miles/hr. if I go full throttle @19psi (with 2.79 diff.). I am going to look into a boost controller with gear & rpm variables so that I can start with 15psi in 1-2nd gears, go to 17 in 3rd and 19 in 4&5. Any suggestions?:)
SilverStreak 05-24-2002, 07:56 AM Does Nitto or BFG make rear drag radials anywhere near the size you need??
You currently have 285/30-18's, correct?
You need some sidewall flex. Maybe for the track only get some 17x10.5's and put 315/35-17's on there, or even with 17x9's, 275/40-17's-- I know BFG makes DR's in those sizes...
Nitto might offer DR's is alternate sizes, check around places like www.discounttires.com and/or www.tirerack.com.
Maybe even look in some Hoosiers, not sure they make 18's though....
Kevlar 05-24-2002, 08:25 AM Sport Compact Car July 2002 has a whole big write up on which boost controller is the best. I just finished reading the article not too long ago... but can't remember the details of it.
I believe you are going to need the Apex-i AVC-R or the Blitz SBC-iD boost controllers. Those were the best of the bunch giving maximum performance with no boost creep. I believe the Blitz model even had the best boost curve because it has an atmospheric pressure sensor built into it and knows how to compensate.
I can't remember which one of the two had the ability to program boost to MPH, I think it was the Blitz. I'll read the article again and get back to you.
If it was up to me, I'd get the Blitz. They said it was the easiest to use and gave the best performance. I'll read the article and try and bring it with me on Saturday.
Silver,
For the tires I need something for the street that will fit the 10" wide rear wheels I have, I wanted to get the SO3s and the widest they had was the one I have. I will look into other brands when it is time to upgrade. For now regulating the boost is my first priority.
Kevin,
I heard about the controllers you mentioned, I guess I need to see them in action, Karl told me some of them were not good in keeping the boost, yes I think the Blitz is a better fit, I just need to find some of these Supras with big power and see how they work.
Thanks guys,
Kev, I see you on Saturday..:)
SilverStreak 05-24-2002, 10:35 AM Gotcha, I'll keep my eyes open for tires for you, with your sizes in mind.
You guys have fun this weekend! :buttrock
I hope one day we can get all the FI cars together, that would be excellent.:)
SilverStreak 05-24-2002, 02:31 PM Maybe all meet up in Virginia Beach or something....
