after a few track days, brake pedal feels soft and depresses further than normal. guessing there is some air in the the lines. taking it to the stealer tomorrow morning. will they flush/bleed/replace the brake fluid under warranty? Mind you I have my inspection 1 coming up in another 1400 miles.
anyone? :help
So you cooked the fluid on the track and want the dealer to replace it under warranty? :confused :rolleyes

That's what the warranty is for! Unless you're going in there once a month for cooked fluid, they have to cover it. We can go buy Asian cars if we want our warranty voided for aggressive driving.
Not to highjack the thread, but take my advise and don't run ATE blue in your cars if you want the stealer to make good on your brake warranty. That stuff stains everything it comes in contact with. Stick with high performance brake fluid that has a similar color to OEM.

they won't change it at inspection. they will only change it 2 years from production date.

You must be joking....that is total BS.
The dealer is under no obligation to support your track days.
damn bro, i dont expect the dealer to cover my abuse from track days. i was just curious if they would replace it. its a Jan 03 build date, and i though every 2 years hey will do that. otherwise ill go for some ss lines, new pads and some motul 600 that everyone seems to recommend..
i just dont want to make the change and then go in for my inspection only to get you voided your brake warranty by swapping out pads, fluid, lines. :nono

Like E46driver said - as long as you,re still under your free maintenance period, they will flush your brake fluid every 2 years. It doesn't correspond with the Insp 1 or 2, just a 2 year time period. You will probably have to keep up with it yourself though and make an appointment.
Sounds like your 2 years is up, so go get it done.
If you want them to replace your brakes/rotors during maintenance period, you have to wear out your OEM brake pads/rotors. They won't replace aftermarket pads or Euro rotors.
I switch brake pads/rotors out for track events, then put the OEM stuff back on when I'm done. If I wear my OEM brake pads out before my maintenance is up (only 3 yrs. because of '02 model), they should replace for free.
If you want to use a better brake fluid than the OEM stuff, I suggest ATE Typ 200 Gold. It's the same formula as Super Blue, but it looks like the OEM stuff.

one slight correction, it's 2 years from it's "in-service" date...

2 years from build date..its in the manual :stickoutt heheh
manual says production date. stealer told me retail date. either way it was covered on this one (thanks to you guys pointing this one out in the first place :redspot )
now lets see how many miles they put on my car 'testing' the brakes.. :confused
