Cause I'm really starting to hate them... hate them all! :mad

If it's not one thing, it's another.

Now the car is reading low voltage, not charging the battery and I may be stuck downtown with a dead car.

I likes to stall because of the flywheel and software, but that should be fixed once I ship the DME back for the revision, but the damage is already done.

Cars SUCK!

Thought you took some lovely weekend trips. :)

If you had given it to me it would have like 3000 miles on it by now...but it would be stuck in Waldorf. :embarrasm

Got it back to DMG, and I'm driving the 325 now.

Somethings up with the M3 though. The ABS and AirBag light flicker a little and the battery is not getting charged. :dunno

alternator...

That is my guess as well. Mine went out about 2 years ago with no warning
at all. If you have the Valeo one, chances are the alternator is gone. I replaced mine with a Bosch.

I still have the optima redtop, so that's the cause.

I may be the alt, but I think it's the voltage reg.

yes, they can be challenging at times

i'm busy diagnosing a hesitation when running my s14 hard at VIR this weekend. thinking its a bad main or fuel relay, bad flywheel sensors, and maybe a bad solder joint on the DME :( . i've pretty much eliminated the fuel delivery.

dunno about your car, but in e30's if the dash cluster is faulty it can lead to a non-charging batt. the charging system runs through the batt light on the cluster

Are the voltage regulators for our alternators integrated w/ the alternator?

My 80amp Valeo alternator decided to go up in smoke as I'm driving north on I-81 just 10 miles outside of Roanoke, VA. Scary losing wipers, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, windows, and the ability to unlock your doors temporarily at speed in the rain on the highway.

BUT... bimmerworld came through and saved my ass with a used 140 amp bosch for $75. James Clay is god!
