:rolleyes
My power steering is making noises..... Sounds like a couple of donkeys having a fight. The reservoir is full there are no leaks anywhere and the steering works just fine. The power steering hoses aren't leaking they are new.
In the interior of the car the steering wheel makes a noise when I turn it also kinda like a piece of metal scratching...Anyone have any insite into this? :rolleyes
Thanks
Edwin

Hmmm. Mine started the same thing today. Did yours quit after the car warmed up?

Again, hmmmm. Another fella suggested I check my fluid level in the res. I'm gonna run out and do that as soon as I win this hand. I'll let ya know in a bit.

So, is the noise coming from the p/s pump for sure? Is it a sound under the hood, which is loud enough to be heard inside? Or is it the sound of an interor piece rubbing (can't hear outside)?

I wouldn't think the pump would need re-building on such a new vehicle. The p/s pump in my truck is 31 years old and still working. The only time I get a noise out of it is if I turn full-lock, which you should never do. When you turn your wheels all the way one direction, back it off a bit after it hits the stop. Otherwise you're causing undue stress to the system which will cause early failure. Not sure if this is your problem, just a tip.

I have been careful on all the cars that I have owned not to force it to the full lock whilst turning the steering wheel. :D It is a sound coming from under the hood.
The noise sounds like it's coming from the steering rack under the car. I have yet to go under the car to actually look and listen. :rolleyes

Alright alright Mr. Rolleyes. Just a friendly tip for everyone.

Get back to us after you find out exactly where the noise is coming from.
