I have a 2000 323ci, and I recently hit a large chunk of concrete (in the middle of the road), blowing out my tire, bending my rim, and messing up my steering/suspension. Since the incident, I've noticed violent shaking when turning left at high speeds (right front wheel hit the concrete).
Looking into the issue, I discovered that I have a lot of horizontal play in the right front wheel when jacked up. Reading up on this, it sounds like this is an issue with my control arms and bushings. I seem to be finding conflicting information, however, on whether just the bushings need to be replaced, or if the whole control arm needs to go. I've also seen some things saying that the bushings can't be replaced independently of the arm, and other things saying that they can.
So, can someone clarify this for me?
Also, if the whole arm needs to be replaced, is this difficult to do? Is there a how-to out there somewhere?
