So I put 18 inch rims on my 330i sport and I want to lower it just a little bit :mad --somewhere between half an inch to an inch. Will a new set of springs simply do the trick and if so, which ones should I consider? Also, will there be any compromise in ride quality? Thanks in advance!

well, if you want just springs, you will be sacrificing ride quality no mater which you choose. And I believe only eibach makes a lowering spring for use without shocks.
Pick up some shocks to go with the springs. Koni adjustables would probably be best for what you want, because you can adjust the dampening. Keeping them on softest would be best for ride quality. then, I'd pair them with some H&R sport springs. They will lower your car somewhere in that range, and because they are a progressive spring, your ride quality will stay pretty nice. I had konis withh H&R race and I thought the ride was just fine.

Thanks a bunch for the help, I'll definitely look into doing that.

I'd recommend UUC V.2 springs.
