Anyone know anywhere else besides Archer's that sells auto helmets?

I need to try some on, this guess and order online doesn't work.

bike helmets are usually not fire resistant, only rated for single impacts.

The motorcycle helmet i have now works great, but I need to get a SA00 or higher helmet.

Sean, try calling 4 wheel parts in plano I think I remember them having helments, if not there try ET automotive in Garland. that's where my dad gets his race car parts... they might if not they'll know where to send you locally.

Does MSR or TMS have a pro shop? Hallett in OK has one and that is where I first tried on helmets to get my approx size. Also, you can use a cloth measuring tape (I have one) and the helmet manu's sizing chart to get your size.

My helmet (Simpson) comes in EVERY size by 1/8" increments, so is a real PITA to figure out. But once you get it, you are done. That is unless you get a fat head by getting FTD on your first AX. Yes, Salsa, I am talking about you and issuing a challenge. :evil2

MSR doesn't have anything, and i don't need a fake nascar helmet so TMS is out.

I did the measure and guess. I just sent back a simpson super voyager. It fit(kinda), but fogged with my glasses on. Not very good vent. system.

FTD = Fastest time drifting? :D

Dude, the super voyager is f'ing tits. That was my second choice ($$) behind my super bandit. Most full face helmets will fog your glasses, mine does. After you have it on for a few mins, it stops. Kinda like when you put your sunglasses on when they have been in a cold car. They fog for a few then clear up. I took the lens off of my helmet and it made it A LOT better.

Motorcycle helmets are designed for one large impact.

Automotive hemlets are designed for multiple smaller impacts such as banging your on the roll bar etc.

With that being said I use my Shoei dirt bike(M) helmet cuz....well I already have it.

Once a motorcycle helmet has had impact, it's no good anymore.

Sean, an XL eh?

You can still receive a substanial impact with a motorcycle helmet and it still be good.

depends on how hard it hits, banging a roll cage over and over wont hurt it. clumbsy me and shizznittle my bike helmet just fell off my bike for the fourth time.............today :confused
if something happens that renders your bike helmet useless, then its prolli gonna be way back on ur list of new things to get
