Anything over 6000k reduces light output and gives you more color then road coverage. I had 8000k in my accord and while it was an amazing color, the output sucked..especially when it rained.

I too like Umnitzas kit, and wish they had a smoked version of it, but they look like they REALLY have their stuff together

My umnitza HID's with angel eyes were just installed on my E34 yesterday, I got it at 6000K. I live in an apartment so don't really have a way to put them in myself, so I just had my mechanic do it. Took him 3+ hours. They look pretty awesome and the brightness is ridiculous, especially considering how much the stock halogens suck. Its weird being able to see so much at night. Its raining today, but I'll get some pictures up for you guys ASAP. Hopefully by the end of the weekend. My car looks a lot like Darthmaul's, and the angel eyes look really mean.

What did the mechanic charge you for the 3 hours? Just for comparison shopping....

the umnitza kit's been pre-modded to have whiter angel eyes...

the depo kits are all H1 but umnitza converts them to 9006 (plug and play).

i'll keep you all posted when i get them next week.

sdwhitney - He charged me $220 to get them in, 3+ hours of work. He said it took a lot longer though. I believe him a) because he's really honest (very rare, I know, but he's done work basically for free for me in the past) and b) because it was the first set he's put into a BMW, so add some time there.

The angel eyes actually are not super-white like the HID's, they match the factory fog lights. I thought they'd be whiter, but their really growing on my quickly. I'm hoping to get picks up today, but I have to wash my car first :).

They convert the housing to 9006? I just got a depo kit but I want to use HIR (not HID) bulbs in a 9012.

no no they convert the wiring harness from H1 to 9006 so it plugs into your factory headlight wire.

I live in WP Beach, maybe I can come see them when I'm in town. I want to get HID's for my Hella smileys too.
I usually go to the BMW meets in Ft. Laud. and Miami in the week-ends. Interested?
