I am looking to build myself a box this summer and attempt to customize it. I would like to see some installations of subwoofers in an E36. I want to run 1 12" or 2 10" subs. Any ideas?

id say 1 12, i have a kicker square l7 sub, it fits nicely and hits hard, 2 10s weigh a lot and kill what little trunk space u have, unless thats your goal

You can look on www.sounddomain.com I'm sure they probably have a few cars on there with some custom setups.

I've got a single 10" but don't know how of if I can post it? Custom fiberglass I did over the winter. 1st attempt. Am happy with how it turned out.

I've got a Memphis for the sub 2 channel, and a Zapco Competition 4 channel rated at 900 RMS (pride and joy) for the mains in the car. Little older amps but they do the job that I want them to do. Thought that I would possibly have to remove the rear speakers because of the car having really good sound deading, but I'm supprised at how well the sub comes through in the car.
Was my winter project so I really haven't driven around too much with this in the car. Salt in Wisconsin is a bitch.

2 10'" subs > 1 12" sub. I have 2 kicker comp vr 10" similar to fivaxis in a box in the middle, but by spring-time I'm making fiberglass enclosures behind the wheelwells on the sides like longboardm82, except one on each side... my $0.02

How much airspace do you have? I was planning to do the exact same setup but unsure of the response I'll get out of the sub in that setup. It's running free-air which does not yield great volume but I believe it blends very well right now with everything else...I yearn for more output, though.

How much power do you have going to that sub?

Sorry, the above post is for you. My apologies.

You're running 500watts, I believe...I see a Memphis MC500D peeking.

Fosgate 8". The next step is use a foam baffle to create a fiberglass enclosure.

I'm not sure about the cubic footage. The sub requires .5 cubic feet I believe I have between .5 and 1. From what I have listened with the sub, it sounds nice and tight. I believe that amp is putting out about 250 RMS. Not positive on this, but when I turned it up didn't seem to have a problem handling it.
