MY 2006 325xi Sports Wagon begins production
note: 325i Sports Wagon (non-AWD) does not begin prod. until March 2006
MY 2006 E46 3 Series Coupe and Convertible production begins

***note: it is too early to announce the expected launch dates of the new 3 Coupe (E92), and the new 3 Convertible (E93)

*** also note: There is a mistake to the ordering guide with regard to Terra leather upholstery. It is actually a combination of Black and Terra such as the case with Natural Brown (and Tanin Red before it)...

Colors

Ultramarine Blue has been cancelled on the New 3, and will be replaced by Mystic Blue (available September '05).

Editorial Comment:

The April issue of Motor Trend also has a nice article on the E90. It
was the first article that recognized that BMW has solved an issue on
parasitic losses. The electric water pump does not rob as much power
as belt driven water pump. 255hp is more than 255 in another car. I
can't wait for the comparison tests against the competition. It will
be interesting to see what happens...

Good luck and best regards,

I'm afraid that BMW will not be lauching the E90 wagon, when the time line stipulates...
September 2005

MY 2006 325xi and 330xi Sedans begin production
MY 2006 325xi Sports Wagon begins production

All dealers I have spoken to, including many BMW reps, say sometime betwween 2/06 and 6/06. Too bad it will take so long.

SMG transmission will be available in Sept for 330I only. Note SMG option requires sport package. Sport package option is $1600 (18-inch wheels/tires, sport seats/steering wheel, firmer suspension); SMG option is $1500, so $3100 for a sporty 330I that you can drive in "cruise" mode for mundane driving, and manual mode for drivers schools and canyon/backroad carving. SMG offers the best of slushbox and manual gearboxes IMO. I'm told SMG has been reliable thus far with the E46 M3s??

A reality check. BMW is having big production difficulties with the new 3-series.

"Sept 05
MY 2006 325xi Sports Wagon begins production"

Once again this information is incorrect. The 3-series wagon has been postoned for many months. I am now told anywhere from May - Sept 06.

MY 2006 325xi Sedan may make it for Oct 06', but could be delayed quite a bit as well.

Now my contact at BMW says US delievery of the wagon is expected December. I give up. No word yet from any dealers I've tried. JL

I am new to this forum and somewhat of a "bimmer" novice... I am looking to buy a new 325i and had a couple of general questions for whoever is willing to answer...
I was at a dealer yesterday and he tried to convice me to save my money and buy leatherette vs. leather.... is it worth it to buy leather, what are the major cons of not....
Secondly what would be a reasonable price for a 325i 2006 with...
automatic
metallic paint(I know that's extra)
premium package
satellite ready

I live in Florida, by the way...

True story. I don't know where everything else is hearing about the 1-year delays...
I'm in a BMW-sponsored tech program. We've had an E90 325xi touring for a few weeks now in our shop. A lot have already been produced.

Hi all. Brand new member here. I have a 2003 E46 M3 and I have a deposit down for a 2007 (or whenever) E90 M3. Based on the comments here, I'm guessing no one has any "real" idea of when the E90 M3 will arrive or what it will cost.

I saw some specs in the new Automobile magazine (425 hp V8, all alunimum body panels, carbon ceramic brakes and, eventually, a new twin clutch transmission, among other things). I'm starting to get worried about the price! Geez! Are they trying to compete with the 360 Modena?? I'm really hoping the price stays under $60K.

I've attached an artist's impression I recently found. Wow.

Thanks,

Dave

For pricing, retail and factory invoice numbers go to cars-dot-com. It also provides good car buying & leasing articles.

I am sad to hear about the productions delays. My patience has worn out. I've been waiting too long for a new 325 xi. I need the AWD. I did want to try a BMW but the prodution delays concern me as so far as the quality of the car eventually produced. Perhaps another time.

Best of Luck to all

What in the world do production delays have to do with the quality of the car? I can tell you for sure that the E90 is a HIGH quality product and worth every penny, especially if you're going for an ix.

What is you take on the convertible? I understand that BMW will have a
'reclining hardtop' - could this be true? Anyone with pictures - speculations on a vert M3?

This sticky could probably go away now. It's a couple of years old now and all the information is way old news. The forums are open with all the E90 information updated by the minute.

In Illinois the letters come first, then numbers, such as G FORCE 2.

M 135, Won 35, BMW 135, JDS SL2, ETC.

I don't know about your state though.
