I'm going to be hooking up my LCD and dvd-in-glovebox in the next few days... would it be okay to pull the power for both units off the same switched-power as the radio? where is the best place to fire these two units up... i plan to have an on/off switch for the screen so that i can 'disable' it "legally" when need be...

thanks

I don't it would hurt anything to run them off the switched power going into the radio. But its probably a better idea to run the wiring to the ignition harness, this is what I did on my e46 to get switched power.

Well, I'm not sure if your bmw is anything like my e46, but on my car there are 3 screws and two spring clips holding on a panel directly under the steering wheel column. After I removed that there was a bundle of wires running up into the steering wheel to the key socket. There was a purple wire that was switched and I spliced into it with a parasitic connector.
