Power will come from a new lightweight V8 producing around 400hp and uses the latest dual-VANOS variable valve timing system. New engine building technology and lightweight materials mean the engine should amazingly weigh the same as the outgoing 3.2 liter in-line 6 cylinder from the current E46 M3 but with considerably more power.

The new M3 is slated to arrive in early 2006 with a 2005 Frankfurt debut and the cabriolet will have a Geneva 2006 debut with sales beginning in summer 2006. The SMG transmission will come standard and a CSL version of the coupe with excess of 420hp is being planned as well.

This info comes from GermanCarFans.com, so take it with a grain of salt.

a 4dr m3 1st before a coupe??? i doubt it, but it still looks ok. not as hot as previous models.

you're right regarding the source. so anything is still possible.

Im not feeling how the area right around the front liscense plate kinda digs into the front bumper.

Is this legit?

If it is, I like the idea of a CSL version, but I want in the states damit.

I don't buy a word of it. Basically it's all the wishing and guessing that has been going on for the last year rolled into one BS blog. BMW hasn't really confirmed anything about the e90 . . .I think the engine thing is about the only reasonalble guess about what the e90 will incorporate.

As for the 4 door, the reason it's shown that way is because it was the only e90 pic around for someone to p-chop.

Timeline does not seem right either . . .

The wheels are photochopped if you look closely, as is the hood bump. I would take it with a grain of salt like stated previously. The only reason it is a 4 door, because those are the only e90 pics available.

the mirrors are photoshopped. maybe the whole thing is. i doubt theyd make the 4-door before the coupe, if at all.

EDIT: too slow :(

Maybe so, but this isn't the new M3... I can't believe I missed the mirrors lol... they arent even the same color as the car.

25cm is no wider than the stock rear tire width of 255mm (25.5cm) on the current M3.

btw, i'll be very upset if there isn't an option for a 6-speed manual.

The tire just looks really wide in that picture but then again that is just a picutre.

Iam sure they will have a 6-speed manual...I cant see them not having one.

no, you aren't. But BMW decided not to name the cars M3 and M4 due to the marketability of the M3 name. There are just way too many rumors about this damn car :eyecrazy

I'm sure I've seen that pic before. Still looks good but it's a PS indeed so let's just wait for some real pics/info.

BMW would never put out a car that looks like that. WAY too much going on.

On the hood, right below the driver, you can see a name. Hussien Design, the "deviant art forum". Definitely an M5 and a 330 sharing parts.

I have a French magazine somewhere from early 2003 with computer renditions/ pictures of the (at the time...) upcoming M5, M6, and still to come M3 and M4. It's amazing how accurate they were with the M5 and M6. Really.
Also with the engine specs and details of the car in general. Remember it was all speculation at the time too... Don't know if these guys have an inside source, but they knew their stuff.

Their M3 and M4 projections as far as specs and what the car will look like looked to be right on too judging by all the pics floating around. If only I could scan it...

i really dont care wat it looks like or how powerful it is....when it comes out im going to be out of college for like 6 months or so....im gonna be broke as hell in debt from loans...no way i can afford like a 60 grand car...so as of now its really not a thing to care about....but i do hope that its a great performer for bmw sake...dont wanna see em get raped by the new rs4 or anything mercedes might have up their sleave...or the new ctsv which is gettin the NEW vette engine in it next year i think....o well either way if it looks ugly or not i think its gonna be a great car....i hope...

Does anyone else think that BMW's have progressively gotten less and less asthetically pleasing over the life of the cars? Especially the 3 series...the E30 M3 looked the best, in my opinion, followed by the e36, then the e46, and now I don't think I'll ever look at an e90 and think "damn, that's hot looking."
